One of my friends on the team told me that there are four jersey colors (white, orange, green, smoke) and two, possibly three different helmets FWIW

Maybe in the second year of the smoke jerseys they'll put names on the back of them.

What lazy *** decided to put Hurricanes on the back of every jersey instead of players' names?

I'm assuming we have the normal white helmets still and the smoke helmets also.

They probably still have the green helmets from the VT game in 2010.

Maybe there's a new orange helmet?
 
i think in another thread someone mentioned that there 3 diff helmet colors: white, orange, and green

shh. if we look like the old canes, they'll suddenly turn into the old canes lol. these guys that care about cleat colors r hilarious. they're not gonna be wearing the cleats, the players are. whatever the players and recruits like, I'm all for.

We should have a further version of the storm trooper uniforms. Everything white and black. Matte white helmet with black and white []_[]
 
I wish we would honor the past and just go '80's and 90's retro.

No need to try and be like Oregon.

Last time I checked they have never won Shiit.

Everything about that uniform - 'Hurricanes' on the name plate, using white pants smacked of a lack of preparedness.

I suspect they rushed those uniforms out there, although I'm not entirely sure why if we're getting new ones across the board.
 
Nastolgia at its best. Haha, people are retarted, some of you think If we wear a uniform similar to the ones from 30 years ago will improve our record..... Lol, kids don't want to wear them old a^^ shi*s. If anything I hope it's similar to the early 2000s unis

Truth @ brock, but you hope if anything is to have a uniform similar to the ones from 2000-2001. So isn't that the same thing? A lot of these kids played in a uniform that mimicked the ones from that era, in high school or even back when they were in middle school. So to these kids, THOSE uniforms are old. I only hope the new ones don't get too crazy. I don't have to play in them, so if their objective is to catch the eyes of recruits, and the kids like it, so be it. Just Win, damnit!

It seems many of you are missing the point of a uniform change from Nike's perspective. Miami is a national brand, so Nike will do what they can to capitalize on that, some curveballs are to be expected to an extent. Nike's not doing this out of the kindness of their heart, they're doing it to make money.

This, and also, those who are calling for the throwbacks from the 80's/90's (including myself, to a point), don't expect to get those. Unless Russell Athletic and Nike reach an agreement where Nike can use those old uniform templates, then the earliest we can go back for throwbacks is the mid-late 90's when we switched over from RA to Nike.

Also...we were the first ever collegiate program to sign an "all sports" contract with Nike ever. They're going to try to make a splash with our uniforms, and again--it's all about the $$$. If they think it will sell, Nike will put it on us.

Ugh, please no Black For The Sake Of Black uniforms.

The black cleats have history and tradition in the program, but there is absolutely no reason for Miami to have black jerseys/pants/helmets.

Miami wears Orange, White or Green. There's still some tradition left in this program right?
