Uniform Appreciation

Please no green pants. Only reason any of you think it looks good is because of the 00-03 teams. It's always looked dumb. White or orange pants. I'm fine with a green top once a year.

I love the current Uni's as they are, I just also would really like a Green alternate top.

Exactly like how the Jersey's are already, just a Green one to go with it.

yup, jerseys are great now. maybe add a U just below the collar, but otherwise. perfect.

rumor has it that Nike has that patented and thus why no U on the collar.

Not sure how that could possibly be true. How can you patent the placement of a logo?

How do they have the U patented when there's still one on the helmet?

I have no idea what OP is saying but my wish list for this season includes these combos:

We wore those last year.

Where'd that rumor get started? In a mental hospital?

So it's the offseason, I was bored and was watching all the games from last year on YouTube . The new uniforms may not be Nike but they make us look like a legit college football program again. I know uniforms have nothing to do with play on the field but the positive effects are psychological. I'm sorry but that "smoke" mess and green on green, orange on orange combos and half *** effort Nike uniforms from 2014 under Folden to the press and print youth football like numbers from 2015-16 adidas Miami's identity was a mess. We sucked on the field and didn't even look the part to be taken seriously. The legend of the U uniforms gave us our identity back and the timing was perfect. When the '18 class comes in and the IPF is complete after a 10-2 2017 campaign Miami will return among the elite, and they will do it in our iconic uniforms.

Nah, the 2014 Nike refresh were straight fire. Sorry dude, you're wrong on that one.

The green and smoke combos were impeccably stylish and shows why Nike's design team is the best in athletic apparel. The helmet game was dope as an alternate look as well. I like what we have going now minus the "technology" on the tops that limit us color-wise (shows through on the green too much). Richt and co had a lot to do with helping Adidas reverse the chotch they put on the look; they generally have no clue what they're doing from a design standpoint and push the futbōl stylings on football uniforms.

Nike was the originator in this and should still be with us.

I liked those uniforms as well!! I'm a old school thinker when it comes to playing the game and that sort BUT when it comes to the looks and fashion of the sport, I'm all for the up to date looks.. I really like what Adidas is doing with our Canes under CMR, because it is really giving Miami an identity and a look.. BUT I honestly think Nike, is killing it with the uni's!! Nike just knows how to spice it up, and they match all these different combo's with there jerseys and have them looking fresh!! I really like the smoke colored uni's, it's just our Canes didn't perform when they had to new look uni's on and I think that killed the vibe of Miami wearing alternative jersey's.. I think CMR would be good with alternative uni's, but they have to keep that old school look to them.. Because under him at UGa, I never seen them where alternative jersey's, it was always the regular look..

BUT Miami had some nice looks with Nike, it's just the winning percentage in those uni's SUCK SO ppl rather forget about it!!

Everyone on this board who knows me know I'm very Pro Nike. I love the old Nike uniforms, and it just feels right w Nike being partnered with us since we were their first.

HOWEVER, what Adidas has done for us thus far has been nothing short of great. They actually listened to us. I def was not feeling that FAMU combo we had going on in 2014. I'm all good w the alternates, but Adidas black ice alternative killed Nike's Smoke alternative.

One thing I do miss from Nike is the stitch pattern and they're willingness to go back in the archives and pull out old school uniforms and give it a modern feel. Ppl complained about the bronze and green lids, and I do agree that they looked a bit ornamental, but those colored lids were apart of our past, same w the yellow lids and the gold lids w the hurricane flag.

But what Adidas has done have been spot on. I wouldn't mind other color schemes since we are the U, but just as long as they keep it neat and clean like they've been doing, it's all good. Now, if we can just get some Yeezy cleats....

just a question, but did we wear green pants in the 1970's? I know we had the green tops, but just wondering if we wore white tops with green bottoms then.

Good one, very creative and original. Seriously good job.

anyways here is an example of what I was saying. Notice the adidas uniform DOES NOT have the schools emblem in the center while NIKE's DOES. Notice how we HAD the "U" front and center with NIKE and no longer do. A patent on the location. IMG_4202.webp

IMG_4204.webp. My buddy says this has been in effect for the last few years and adidas and Nike were secretly going through legal battles. Supposedly. I am not for 100% certain because Ima regular guy...but it was a rumor I heard from a friend of mine who works in sports apparel.

Those Tenn uniforms look like pure puke...happy as **** I don't have to watch my team play in that sheet

I am not sure. I will admit the 00-03 green pants were way better looking than any other green pants we've had since.

Those uniforms and helmets were garbage. FOH.

:based-duke: we'll just have to disagree.

Adidas needs to go trefoil but they're not smart enough to realize that. The best thing they can do is listen, keep it simple, and not take any artistic liberties, ever.
