UM vs Cal 10/3 - Who's coming to first Canes Cali Takeover?

My co-worker got her rental car broken into twice in SF, so now, she parks it with the windows rolled down and takes her personal stuff with her. The whole city is like Tenderloin now.
You are absolutely correct about do not leave ANYTHING in the car. It has been that was since at least 2015.

No breweries of great note. Wineries? Now you’re talking.
Russian River Brewing Company is pretty noteworthy. It's got like a top 10-15 rated beer in the world - Pliny the Younger. However they wont be selling it in October as they only sell it for a limited time usually between like Feb-April or something like that. And you're really limited in quantity to buy and have to wait in a long *** line usually... But theres Pliny the Elder (37th), Supplication (97th), Beatification (116th), Consecration (196th).

Henhouse and Lagunitas are right next door too, both of which are great.

In and around Berkeley you can try Fieldwork (might have 1 in napa too tbh) and Cellarmaker, which are supposed to be good. Ghost Town too which I think is in Oakland.

As an LA resident I'm pretty excited to see the Canes coming out to the West Coast. Any West Coast Canes planning on attending? Anyone making plans to travel to Berkley? Listening to some USC fans talk about how they are going to miss going to Berkley to mollywop the Bears kinda got me interested in what it will be like up there. Certainly not a hostile environment for visiting fans, but should be unique. Canes need to avenge that 2008 Emerald Bowl...

Anyone interested in a tailgate or CIS meet-up party that weekend?

Yes - I live 15 Minutes from the stadium

Elder such a solid beer. Hazy has been the craze for awhile and Pliny still stands out as an exceptionally well crafted beer. Dangerously drinkable for 8%. I'm fortunate it's always around in my area on the East Coast.

Supplication is my favorite wild ale.

I plan on heading up from Los Angeles and staying with a friend that lives in Berkeley. Bringing my lady, too. Her first Canes game!

Also thought about chiming in on the beers but yall seem to have that covered. Bay Area is fantastic for that. Cellarmaker is the ****. Russian River the OGs of course. On and on it goes. Stoked for it!

Will be there with my younger brother. Any recommendations on best area to stay hotel/airbnb. Flying into SFO, heading back to Miami the Monday after the game. Thanks for any suggestions

On my way with my girl and her son. We there all the way from Delray. Never been to NorCal. Been to the Southside a couple times and down in TJ. Looks like the Rugby field may be the place before the game. Hope we can all hook up and have a few cold ones. 🍻

I got an Airbnb in Berkeley @CaneCounty, looked like the best option. The host said no parking was reserved, first come first serve, but she did tell me don’t leave anything of value in the car and nothing you can see from outside.

From SFO, I’d stay in a hotel near the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero fronting SF Bay. Excellent walking area with multiple restaurants. It’s a foodies paradise inside the Ferry Building. The farmer’s market there is outstanding.

For the game, I’d take BART to the Berkeley stop and then walk up through the Cal campus to the stadium. Alternatively, get an Uber in SF for the 15-20 minute ride to the stadium. A rental car does you no good as there is virtually no parking near Cal.

On the one hand, I’ll be there. On the other hand,

In my experience, the lines for Pliny the Younger are a thing of the past. It still is a limited window, but in my experience the last couple years it has been very easy to try around SF Beer Week. I randomly walked into a pizza place two years ago that had it on draft with zero line whatsoever. The craft beer movement overall has really declined over the last few years,

As an old guy, the beer scene is interesting. If it had not been for mass marketing and the fact that nobody could foresee people being willing to pay $15 per six pack, we might not have lost all the great breweries that once existed. PA had over 320 before Prohibition. OT As a Slovak I refuse to drink beers with coffee, chocolate, or fruit in them They are as bad as wedding cake vodka.

solid recommendations. 🫵

Tickets: I just visited the official Cal Ticket site. On August 7, the site will begin selling single game tickets. I’m hoping that these will be somewhat (or a lot) cheaper than seats purchased via seatgeek, stubhub, etc. 🤞

Does anyone know how to buy tickets to the Canes pregame event on the Cal Rugby Field? I don’t know who controls entrance to that event.

Thanks.

I hope to join the Cane event at the Cal Rugby Field behind the stadium. See you there!

I don't see this on the Miamihurricanes.com events list. Assuming it will pop up closer to the event? Any additional details greatly appreciated. I hate tailgating in parking garages.
