If you are a UM student (undergrad or graduate), please post in this thread.

wherrera8 is trying to organize something for one of the next basketball games and it would be nice to have a larger student presence protesting.

Coach L, doesn't want this negative attention around his program. Go protest on Greentree.

I'm a former undergrad student. Now at UF medical school. I will definitely try to come if you guys can get something substantial set up. And if i can find a student ticket.

the administrators will shut you guys down.

not only that, current students will get screwed over.

Don't DO IT.

don't risk your future over a football team

If it's nothing illegal then why not? Nothing wrong w/ civil disobedience and these ****ers need to know we're serious

they already proved that the athletic department is not to be criticized. they censor the student paper, radio station, and now signs.

Hecht retroactively changed policies at the BUC to cover their ***.

do you really want to test their ****-esqueness?

Why not organize a protest in front of the Hecht? It is harder to stop a group of students with signs gathering in the street directly from the Hecht. If security attempts to disperse a peaceful gathering like that then the university will have a serious problem on its had.

Google michigan student football protests. Risk your future? LOL students run universities and if there is a crack down it will kill admissions. That is a secret that administrators fear.

True.
Having one or two students carrying signs is not as effective as having 30-50 students in front of the Hecht or Greentree field with signs.
The big question is: Do we have enough students who care about winning who are willing to exercise their freedom of assembly? That's in amendment 1 of the constitution (Freedom of peaceful association)

I would be down to do something in front of the Hecht. It's up to Willy at the end of the day.

It's gonna be even hard to get that big of a group and keep it peaceful. That's what they want us to do to then make us look like irrational lunatics even if we are peaceful. Right now they are taking things away from us. I like the shirt idea because one of two things will happen

1) it will get noticed in the arena and could be picked up by media, or
2) they ask us to leave and then what will their reason be?

Exactly, would be more effective...not to mention, why take eyes off of a great coach this bumbling admin accidentally stumbled into hiring...especially if it is the Notre Shame game where we will need all hands on deck...

Michigan fans got their AD fired. Fact.

LOL no.

Michigan boosters got their AD fired. Big difference.

Also, them bungling Shane Morris' concussion really turned the heat up on the whole AD.

Students don't get coaches fired. People with money do.

People spending the money impact those that want the money. Boosters are business people that could at least see the writing on the wall from the student protests.

Next move should be to directly boycott any businesses run by Miami BoT and major boosters.

Boosters have watched Miami regress the last four years, play in front of a half empty stadium every Saturday, saw FSU win a national championship and play in the Playoff this year, see recruiting classes fall apart and have heard that half our team wants to transfer. Do you really think at this point that they are going to be swayed by a couple dozen students with signs?

Right. Because this was the last thing on the list to be done between now and the start of next season.
