It's scary to think they could pay even less attention to athletics to improve the ranking.

Decline will continue. Football made all the improvement possible. Donna left everything in ruins.

Just wait until they find out we shovel coal................We will be back up there in no time.

Agreed. Football was the engine that drove UM forward. The incompetents ruining, err running the school didn't realize it. They abandoned the driving force and until someone recognizes what was responsible, the academic reputation will continue to suffer.

****...even Tulane got hit by an actual hurricane and managed to get back up in the rankings quickly.

The clowns in charge need to take a page out of UFs book. You can have great athletics and an improving academic standing. They are not mutually exclusive. Our higher ups have a real disdain for athletics. Don't know why but it's been fatal for the football program.

Need more depth in the faculty. Too many young professors.

Make them take regular drug test too. That will thin the ranks. Oh, you were saying we need more. I was thinking all the faculty and administrators should be drug tested. Maybe they would not be so eager to throw players out then. You know Donna must have had to hit something everyday after looking in the mirror.

Well, ****.

This is actually really annoying.

Out of the top 50 and right behind UF. There goes Al's, "top university in Florida" pitch. Though the man doesn't seem very good at math, so maybe he'll just keep saying it.

The new slogan by UM HR should read: "The University of Miami...have a career doing a ****ty job"

Could this be a sign that things are getting back on track? Athletics were headed downhill, while academics were trending up. Maybe we're headed the other way now...

Too much attrition on the faculty over the last few cycles, plus they are relying on too many **** in the skill courses.

It's tough to go head to head with UF with respect to facilities, they get state funding. And, don't tell me facilities are not important for young professors.

Donna left the cupboard bare for Julio. Let's just hope he can right the ship in a hurry.

Why would a kid choose to attend Miami these days? Expensive, mediocre academics, and the football team sucks.

All things equal, dumb mistake to send your kid to UM over, say, Florida.

lol these rankings are meaningless. when UM was 38 and UF was 56, UM didn't become better academically than UF. it was still the same and will continue to be the same.

**** naw man, they got femme running the Track team which is one reason why we can't get real Football trackster on the Football team pulling dual duty; they go to FSWho, Auburn, UiF. And if they come, they won't run for femme.
