Dan Mullen is 33-12 at Florida. He's 4-3 on the season with a 2 Point loss to Alabama and 7 point losses to Kentucky and LSU. Mullen would win here, I get were supposed to hate him because he's UF coach but I would place him on my Top 5 most wanted HCs if he becomes available. He does very good work with QBs and his OLs are usually solid. Defense would be the question mark with him
well, Manny was his DC at one time

None really. Contact is already being made to gauae interest so that is all that matters.
Ok. That's what I thought. Barring some kind of miracle, Manny Diaz will be fired at the end of the year at the very latest. Nobody can hire a new coach until their season is over anyway so firing a guy mid season makes no difference in that regard. People here are making it seem like you can hire a new guy as soon as you fire the old guy so if Diaz isn't immediately canned, Miami will somehow be late to the hiring party and all the good coaches will already have jobs. It doesn't work like that.

IMO - Diaz goes 3-2 rest of the way + he gets Bissainthe = he stays
He stays, all the coaches stay for another year.
TVD/Garcia
Knighton/Thad maybe Portal
WRs Portal

Strong up the middle on D LT, Bissainthe, JW, Kam

12 wins next season

I read a pretty good article about that on The Athletic (paywall) by Andy Staples.

Cliff notes:
- He's not on the hot seat, this year
- He has to start Richardson from now on
- He has to get rid of Grantham at the end of the year
- Comparing what Kirby Smart is doing at UGA, recruiting is a disaster
- Buy-out is manageable (12 million with 6 upfront and then 1 million a year for 6 years)
Thanks.

Sounds like they’re giving him another year, but hilarious they want him to part ways with Grantham, Grantham has been his trusted DC since the Miss St days lol.

And comparing them to UGA in terms of recruiting is wholeheartedly unfair, UGA just spent $3.68mill on their recruiting budget for last year’s class, there’s no way UF can compete with that, they don’t even crack the top 10, **** even FSU spends more money than UF.

UF would be stupid AF to run Mullen outta town, UF isn’t that premier of a job anymore & they will forever be a 2nd tier team in the SEC... Plus Tennessee over the last 3 years has been increasing their recruiting budget by a lot, last class they spent $2.24mill in recruiting, plus brought in a new innovative coach, Tenn once they find a legit QB is going to start fckin sh*t up in the SEC East.

If UF kicks Mullen out too early, they’ll be S.O.L.

I think part of the reason for not firing a guy midseason is that it allows your potential candidates who are still employed to not be pestered with constant media speculation about interest in an another open head coaching position.

Last thing a guy like Mario or Stoops needs is to get derailed with questions about other jobs while trying to get their teams focused on winning a conference.

Thanks.

Georgia HATED Grantham...Their saying was..."3rd Down and Grantham"

Yup I remember their fans being ****ed at Richt for sticking with him for 4 years lol.

They wanted him gone after LSU crushed them in the SEC championship game in 2011 & it reached a fever pitch once they got beat by 28 to the Ol Ball Coach Spurrier & South Carolina in 2012.

Thanks.

Yep, and the AD. People here couldn't see it for the dislike/hate for that program. But now that's just another reason for Stoops to leave and come to Miami. ;)

Way to miss the point. Fact is/was you need not be the second coming of Lombardi to win at those schools due to their massive advantages. Losing to Kentucky, for a program like Florida, is unforgivable IMO, look at the record UK broke the last two years in beating UF.

Firing Mullen seems premature, but if they wanted Mark Stoops he'd probably kill it up there.
