UCF

What happened to UCF in 2017 in no way is the same as 2000 UM....2000 UM would've curbstomped any UCF team in History too boot...

By the EXACT SAME MEASURE that UCF claims 1 national championship, Miami has NINE. Facts. Google it.

If UCF can sell those national championship t-shirts, then I want a 9 Rings t-shirt and license plate frame.

Way too many UCF fans infused into our fan base.
It's 60K number of students per every school year...that's one major growing future alumni base.

I grew up in South Florida not having an allegiance and in 1979, I attended my first UM game and it was hook, line and sinker. Never once waning my Fandome. I graduated from UCF. One of my kids is there today, graduating with a Finance degree in the Spring. I think you will have more and more of this over time. ****, when I first arrived at UCF, I met so many guys that were UM fans and who grew up in Central Florida. I was shocked assuming just about all were Gaytor fans. Some of you might be surprised at the Cane fanbase in the Orlando area. It's a good size.

To this day, my allegiance is with UM. If UM/UCF play one another, it will be UM. Have season tix to both programs as I care to contribute to two programs that has given me much joy and countless memories over decades(one much more than the other). I try to make 2-3 games each season. Was at the Boise game last week, App St game tonight and will be at the MSU game next Saturday. Not bad way to kick off CFB 2021!

Just my .02 but I do think there's a mix of Canes/UCF fans intertwined. And its not necessarily a bad thing...

I'm on the side of starting to take those guys seriously. They have gotten better every year, they WANT to keep moving up and now they are in a major conference that opens doors that were always shut to them.

We need to get our heads out of our a$$es and tighten up.
We are essentially Blockbuster video. Both on top of the world once upon a time and had essentially the same life span. Both failed because they had no vision to adjust to the new competition. We need a new business model or will be gone forever.

UCF recruiting rankings:

2018: 62
2019: 60
2020: 75
2021: 58

This is what needs to change if they really want to be in the conversation for in-state schools. They just aren't talented enough right now.

So they've achieved more with much less talent

Hmmmmm...what's our excuse?

For that....I'll let Manny explain

The Big 12 is going to be a slightly better version of the AAC now. You’re acting like they won the lottery
This. Remember when the Big East was a major conference until the good teams left? They filled the spots with a bunch of Conference USA teams and you ended up with what’s now called the AAC. All the big XII did was assure they become a minor conference. I fully expect teams like West Virginia and Oklahoma State to continue searching for a new conference in the coming seasons

Nope they will stay mediocre for a long time with 1 year out of every 10 where they beat somebody relevant and their fans pump their bird chests.

It was so much fun watching us curb stomp them at the bounce house when they thought they were going to beat us. I remember the media giving them the edge. I decided to go watch with a bunch of UCF friends. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh were the Tears Flowing after that game. Hahahahahah

It's kind of like the fans who hold up that FIU loss but forgot the stomping we put on them the year before. 🤷‍♂️

The Cane Fanbase isn't all that in Orlando...I left that **** Hole (retired) after 20yrs in Orlando (and also lived in Orlando in 91 & 92) the entire town is mostly Gator infested...with a strong FSU Faction as well....sure there are some Cane fans...but nothing like what people make it out to be.

Ohhhhh **** UCF talking about talking about they want to play Miami. They need to worry about playing a B12 schedule first.

Go Canes

They’re trading one Group of 5 conference for another. They should do fine in the Wee 12...only competition for them will be TCU, Oklahoma State, and Baylor/W Virginia depending on the year.

I have always cringed when Miami fans say we have 6 rings because of the crap call. But claiming a national title in the year 2017 when you didn’t win one is the most cringeworthy thing I’ve seen in sports

The WVU AD would svck the **** of every university president, AD, coach, and player in the ACC to get an ACC invitation.

Technically, if Miami wanted to, they could claim at least two more national championships. The NCAA doesn’t award a national champion so as long as you finish first in one of the polls (there’s a ton of them, most of them people don’t even know about) you can claim a title. UCF gets laughed at for doing it but other schools have done the same thing. Alabama has multiple “fraudulent” titles they claim but none are recent.

There’s no NCAA national champion in football. Back in the day you were called “AP Champion” if you finished first in the AP poll. But there were other major polls, so that’s how we used to get split championships. In 1998 we got the BCS championship that we all remember and now we have the CFP championship for the playoff.

When the remaining “names” in the big 12 realize they’re not going to be able to get as much TV money on their next contract without Texas and Oklahoma, they will all be whoring themselves out to any of the remaining power 4 conferences. A program like WVU still carries some athletic cache and I think the ACC should at least kick the tires, especially if it could lead to a Notre Dame tie-in.
