Jeezus. Figs as a freshman weighed in at 240 with 5.2% body fat. Where did they find this dude? How was nobody all over this guy?

If I´m not wrong, he was a 4* recruit, but some serious grades problems cooled his recuitment as a senior in HS.

oh and CROWN Al Golden.

I bet Corch Randy never heard some of those words that PhD Nutrional Specialist was saying.

He just gets it.

There's some good stuff in there, but **** does conventional sports nutrition lag. Such a crazy misconception about good fats. Feeding these kids bread like crazy, but having them avoid good fats? Coconut oil, for example, does not slow down the digestion process. It's a MCFA. This guy cited "sausages" as the example of fat. Well, that's a processed meat.

So sausage doesn't contain a lot of fat? Coconut oil is good for? I am curious.

hire Lu. fire PhD nutrition specialist.

Not saying that at all, but the disparaging of [good] fats is really a shame.

"Eat bread! Avoid all Fats!"

I put my head through a window. All better.

It's just a common thing to use processed meats as examples of why "meat" is bad for you or why "fat" is bad for you. In reality, there are good and bad fats. Coconut oil is like 92% saturated fat. Automatically, people will scream to avoid it. In reality, it's a medium-chain fatty acid.

Here's an example:

Medium chain fatty acids are absorbed and shuttleddirectly to the liver, where they are oxidized (burned) for energy. The short and medium chain-lengthsaturated fatty acids are shorter than those of other common fats and oils like beef tallow, lard, cocoabutter, soy, corn and canola oil. All these fat sources contain varying amounts of saturated fatty acids, but these are almost exclusively long-chain fatty acids (16 carbon atoms or greater). The long carbonchain makes these fatty acids almost insoluble in water, so the body must handle them differently. After a meal rich in long-chain fatty acids, bile is required for their digestion and absorption. Onceabsorbed, long-chain fatty acids must be reassembled into triglycerides and packaged intochylomicrons, which in turn, transport these fatty acids to adipose and muscle tissue for energy orstorage.

Basically, it's throwing the baby out with the bath water. The irony is that soy and corn and canola are some of the oils that make...bread (which was one of their solutions).

Hey, I don't know **** compared to those guys. But, I do know that science and its studies tend to lag.

Nutrition at Miami has come along way since I met with Brad Roll in 93' and conducted a study with many UM football players. FYI, there is no milk in Muscle Milk.
