Been following this **** long enough to know; when a kid goes on and on about another school, rumored to be the favorite and drops “Miamis cool, they’re the home team”that’s not bull****, it’s smoke.

That interview doesn’t sound good. He said two measly generic sentences about us then went on & on about UGA. If we don’t land these AH kids then idk what to say about Rumph.

This is more than 2 sentences.

Campbell has been to local Miami the most and has watched the program turnaround under Mark Richt and company.

“It’s great to see how he came into a program that wasn’t doing so well, had some bad years and he just came in and worked with the guys and helped them win their first bowl game in a couple years (the first season) and the following year had a big season winning the (ACC) Coastal and having a 10-win season.”

A couple things make Miami right.

“The depth they have at my position and just being from Miami,” he said. “Being close to home.”

Sounds UGA bound ... all we have is depth and proximity...While UGA told him he will win chips there .

Agreed 88 he's definitely locked in with uga

Yeah the staff didnt tell him to help miami win championships.

So he listed 4 coaches he trusts from UGA and 1 from Miami. I'm a vet in the game and not a guy who hangs on every word, but for those who like to parse quotes, that one is interesting.

It is interesting - more
Importantly, is rumph our 1?

Pope said something very similar about miami too. He said miami is miami.

that posted transcript says a lot imo. he trusts 3 of the UGA's coaches. meaning he trust they are good coaches, and not going to fail him. he only mention Rumph on our side. while he directly by name mentioned Smart and Saban. tells me the jury is still out on Richt and Rumph in the eyes of the AH kids/coaches. remember who those kids have mentoring them. Chad Wilson and Pat Surtain. those guys give a different perspective for this kids than coaches at some of the other local schools. for whatever reason, I also think UM is graded on a tougher curve than other schools when it comes to some local kids.

like I said yesterday, I think it's UGA for him if he had to pick right now. no sunshine pumping.

Exactly. And how many titles has UGA won?

UGA is in the playoffs. But let's not forget Richt got them just as close to a title as Kirby has. In fact, Smart has Richt's players to work with (31 seniors and they'll take a hit next year). Richt had a program that Golden left him.

He mentioned Coley as a coach, the same guy who was a joke at Miami. Coley's a glorified salesman.

That half back pass in the snow at the Sun Bowl in 2015 is a microcosm of Coley's coaching acumen - crap.

The crazy thing is he listed the 2 biggest draws we have: early playing time and playing close to home. He’s well aware of what we have to offer.

Personally, I see it this way:

A couple days ago he told RattlerCane305 he wants to stay home but needs to take his visits to make sure he is making the right choice.

A few days later, during a quiet period, he says I could choose now, I have an unnamed leader, but I need to take my visits to make sure it’s the right choice.

Based on those 2 near identical statements I think he still leans Miami but like Rattler said the comp is pulling out all the stops.

Someone's been payin' attention...

I was just going to post this. This place can become unbearable sometimes. Everyone clamoring to get a word in without thinking about what Rattler said. Tyson corroborated what Rattler stated here.

This is good news for us

Exactly.

All im saying is i believe somebody said he had been posting a lot of uga stuff all year on twitter but it was still said that miami leads. So how is this interview any different? It's obvious he really likes uga but doesn't mean he is going there.

Frierson liked uga too. Dude visited their a lot and was wearing their gear and he still signed with miami.

Coley is an offensive coach so that half back pass **** doesn't matter to that kid. coley is Kirby's south florida bagman, and he's doing a **** good job.

Campbell is coming. Miami has been supposedly leading for a while and as recent as a couple days ago. This shît hasnt gone in 2 days from miami leading to he is gone.

I remember my first recruiting season.....(Jobe, Samuel)

Yall want the elite recruits but dont think you should battle for them. This is big boy recruiting.

Said no one.

I'm commenting on the things can't change in 2 days..... Which in big boy recruiting happens all the time.

yup. the kid is making a choice. there's things he likes about all of his choices. folks here just act like little girls when the kids talk about those things.

Kids don’t know good coaches from bad coaches any more than they know good tattoo artists from bad ones. They see coaches working for bigtime programs and assume they’re qualified coaches.

We know Coley isn’t a good OC. But Campbell likes Coley because Coley is a good schmoozer. He’s a good salesman and has the gift of gab and has convinced Campbell that he’s got Campbell’s best interests at heart. He’s built a relationship and friendship with Campbell like any good recruiter/salesman does.

I get the feeling Rumph isn’t that sort of guy. He’s not a schmoozer or a silver-tongued salesman. He’s just a regular guy who probably tells it like it is and doesn’t really have any game.

Unfortunately, kids are impressionable and can’t cut through bullshyt like seasoned adults. They’re more prone to being convinced by slick talking guys like Coley and Dameyune Craig than they are to gravitate to a low key no BS guy like Rumph.

Campbell should be a UM layup given everything in our favor. The reason it’s still nip and tuck is because the programs we are battling have better salesmen on the case. We will likely get him, but it got way closer than it needed to be because we don’t have as much pitch on our side.

It also doesn't help we are not in the playoff. Which teams is Campbell considering? All playoff teams.

Uphill battle by our staff in that regard.

A layup shouldn't become a full court heave.....

If Ohio Taint nipped Alabaga for that last playoff spot he’d still be interested in Alabaga. You guys put too much stock in each win and loss when it comes to recruiting. We did enough on the field this year to show we are a couple good men away from winning it all.
