Tyreek Hill Arrested & Calais Campbell bears witness (Hill handcuffing)

How dare a cop cuffs the Walter Man of the year! Fire all those scumbags! **** the MDPD! I remember I was maybe still in middle school and Calais came out the the Acreage football league in loxahatchee fl with some other players and spoke to everyone. I'm 29 now, can't believe he's still playing at a high level. Calais you are an awesome human being!

fyi. they were going to arrest them all (him, Hill, and Smith) if it werent for the 100000 video cameras (FILM EVERY ENCOUNTER WITH THESE COPS) filming everything (you could see the ******* stadium in the background and the signs for yellow lot). im just glad the video was already out so they couldnt scrub the footage and create a false narrative (as we know police reports are heavily biased and not considered evidence at trials).

I mean I was taught to just say yes officer/no officer and don’t argue with cops if I get pulled over because this is what can easily happen as my own father learned at 18 or so in SC en route to UM from up north, but it’s certainly not a requirement and Tyreek told him to do what he’s got to do and the ******* cop went psycho. Was it the window thing? He rolled it up?? That’s not enough to justify this.

Those cops need to be fired and at a minimum the feds should look at civil rights charges.
When the cop told him to get out of the car, he should have gotten out of the car. There is no reason for Tyreek to have acted that way, nor was there any reason for those two officers to act that way.

Those idiots were on a major power trip...but its definitely not 'ok' to just be a complete pain in the *** when dealing with the cops either.

I stuck my nose into police business once and got slammed on my head by three cops

In hindsight I absolutely deserved it

I’m white btw

he was going 60 in a 55 per the cops. that isnt even a legit reason to have a guy come out of his car. further, hill already gave him his license immediately. the cop had all they needed to write the ticket and move on. hill said on tv he rolled up his window because he didnt want people taking pics. thats waht other celebs have said as well in those situations (lil baby said this on a body cam during a traffic stop when the cop asked why). also, for them, they dont want people knowing its them in the car and then become targets for criminals trying to follow them home. SFL had robberies occur at a few heat players houses (bosh was one and haslem as well) when they were specifically on a road trip). the cop was bruised mentally bc hill wasnt nice to them and he legally doesnt have to be. theyre not his dad or hes not in court where he has to show deference to a judge

they have the video of the moment his car passed them (they were sitting in the middle of the road). the car wasnt going 100 mph that people made up on twitter. it was 60 in a 55 mph zone. the cop saw a mclaren in miami gardens and didnt have the brain power (not shocked most of them cant read or barely graduated HS at best) to realize it could be a dolphins player since the stadium is legit in sight of where they were including the entrances to the stadium grounds.

Again, I could see why the officer would feel threatened when a guy is rolling up the tinted window to his Lambo (or was it a Ferrari .. nm Hoops says it was a McLaren. I guess I don't know my $400K sports cars).

But the moment he exerted his power, Hill cooperated. That should have been enough. The cuffing and rough treatment, cuffing CC and threatening to arrest him, that was out of hand. I'm speculating, but my guess is the cop's adrenaline was pumping like crazy, and he was feeling both frightened and powerful at the same time. Seems like a very fragile and dangerous state of mind to be as a cop.

CC did everyone involved a huge favor acting the way he did. That was some level headed stuff talking everyone off the ledge.

It was supposedly estimated to be 60 in a 40. Hill didn't want bad press photos going out, so he rolled up his windows. He should have said he's rolling down his passenger window and the cops should have not gone overboard.

I'm white and I've run across cops who tend to get overbearing if you don't do exactly as they say.

You’re way too unhinged to have a conversation

I’m talking about Calais wondering why he was handcuffed

Imo Hill was a dbag

But the cop lost me when he said the line about “obeying my order” but then said “you know what get out of the car”

He ****ed up right there to me and showed he was taking it personally. Cops aren’t supposed to take it personally especially since those of us getting pulled over most likely are

There's no good guy in any of this.

I come from a blue family and they were all ****ed at the cops watching the video

But per the usual it becomes about us and our feelings and our biases immediately and everyone wants to use things for their agenda

Can’t imagine why we can’t make any progress

Honest question -- do you think the way I posted this thread I was being biased against the police? I wasn't trying to. I was just super impressed with how Calais handled the situation.

On a related note, I could definitely see how CC's comment to the media "why put me in cuffs?" (paraphrasing) was also unnecessarily inflammatory. Too much implied racism when I think it was much more about those cops being committed to controlling the scene by then, even though they were mostly responsible for escalating the situation. But in general, I think his presence really helped both sides defuse.
