Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy OL and Cane commitment Tyree St. Louis visited Syracuse earlier this month.
"That was a very good visit, was a lot of fun," St. Louis said. "I'm still with Miami, but Syracuse is in contention."
He expects to visit UM the weekend of Jan. 16 and will also visit Tennessee next month.
St. Louis also says he considers himself "very solid" to UM.
A 6-5 1/2, 306-pounder, St. Louis says his primary Cane recruiter is line coach Art Kehoe.
"I love coach Kehoe, he's a great guy, great coach," St. Louis said.
St. Louis is one of three IMG Academy players committed to UM (along with Scott Patchan and Ryan Fines), and St. Louis says "we always talk about coming in and being the ones that help change the program."
He adds "This class overall, it's a very good class, very well skilled. This class we have not just skill players but also talented and intelligent players."
* Of what he improved most this past season, St. Louis said, "I feel like I improved
in every phase of the game - run pass, physically, mentality."
Does he expect to play right away at Miami?
"I don't know yet," he said. "It all depends on the left tackle (Ereck Flowers) and whether he stays or leaves. If he stays I'll try to fight for playing time as the backup behind a senior veteran."
