Kid is actually not bad. he is a legit 3 star. i would take him.

I agree... hips okay... and for the most part stay over the top shoulder of the receiver.. and has pretty good make up speed....

But still smells like a panic pickup...

Oh it would be. But as far as those types go, it isn't a a bad option.

I don't see anything glaring on those clips that says he couldn't play at Miami.

Seems like all the big programs in his neck of the woods saw enough of him to think he couldn't play at their schools.

If our staff weren't incompetents this wouldn't be an issue but he doesn't look like a complete non-starter. Ladarius Gunter was a nobody in high school and at the JUCO level. Was misused by our favorite incompetents in Coral Gables and is still a likely mid-round pick.

I don't see an NFL draft pick on his high school tape either.

They're taking flyers on anyone. He doens't appear to a bad option for the Monday before signing day.

I don't really care to get into the "he's ok for two days before signing day" line of thought. That's generally how you wind up with a roster full of garbage. I'm not looking to lower the standards and then be ok with the lower standards just because it's a last-second panic situation that the incompetence of the HC caused.

I'm only concerned with acquiring top level players who can compete at the highest level. I don't see an interest level from any top programs for this dude, and I don't know enough about him personally to think I know more than the top programs who have ignored him.

I understand the frustration of ignoring or failing to land like or similar kids in our area.

Having said that, man there's a lot of *****es on this board talking **** about a young man that has more interest and offers than any tard posting here. That makes it real easy to see who the real losers are.

Yes, he might not be up to our typical (when we're good and have a leg to stand on) standards, but there's no reason to talk down about the guy. Bunch of wannabe losers.

Not sure who's talking bad about the kid. He is not Miami talent plain and simple.
Could he be a perfect fit, and play really good for a place like Cal? Yes
Could he play for USC? No.
Can he play for us? No.
If we are going to take a kid below our typical standards, he dam well better be from the Miami area.

Miami standards, what are those these days? Last I checked, Boise State has had far more success than us the last decade. Toss in our dead man walking coach and inability to snag guys from our backyard, we've got serious problems.

I hear what you're saying, but this isn't the Miami we all fell in love with or for the really old timers I suppose it is. Until some coach proves otherwise, I'm by no means suggesting we as fans lower our standards with regards to what recruits we want, but the cold and hard reality is this is a guy that's up to our current standard.

He has two years worth of highlights available to watch. Either you think he can play or he can't. USC and UCLA ignore kids all the time that become players in his area. They would say "we can't get them all". That actually has some substance because they get their share. Unlike Miami. Generally a school like Boise State takes advantage of that. They'll probably take advantage again. Unless the California kid would be less insulted by this last minute offer than a Florida kid.

You may not be interested in lowering your standards, but not getting either of the Davis kids or Lewis and any other guy that was really targeted means the standards must be lowered to get players in here. No one is buying what they are trying to sell. The on-field product won't allow for it. So until the on-field product does allow for it(under a new coach) trying for last minute options or simply pulling some guy from SEC territory that was unwanted is gonna happen.

Very very weak football league out there in Fresno. The Clovis schools do okay but don't really put as many kids in D1 as you'd think for their success rate.

Edison high is the no sunshine high school of Fresno. I cannot imagine this kid having any easier of a time getting qualified at UM than a kid from Carol City or Central, etc..

The past few years I had been looking forward to signing day majorly even when we've been trolled by Keef, MT6, etc. I am literally dreading Wednesday this year

That's what we do come days prior to NSD. Steal all the 2/3 star recruits from the lower tier D-1 and Sub Division schools! That's Al's process, lay the foundation with scrubs and build up baby. Trust the process.
