Ty Simpson (is not yet in the portal)

Simpson should 100% follow the Beck model.. Tons of hype (first round grade at some point), faced adversity and lost momentum, and needs a change of scenery. Come to Miami, behind a strong offensive line and play for Mario/Dawson.
I’d actually say the opposite. He should 100% go to the draft in what is an incredibly weak qb class. Currently, he’s qb 3 and with how qb needy NFL teams are that’s a good shot at going in the first round. If Moore stays at Oregon then he jumps up to qb2 and all but certain to go in the first round.

That's not how the draft works. If Carson Beck is the 6th ranked QB in the draft class, and the first 5 QBs withdraw their names, that doesn't catapult Beck to the first round, and the top of the draft board. The draft works in this way: does player X have a first round grade. Currently, Matt Miller (ESPN Draft analyst/SR draft analyst), only two QBs have first round grades as of January 3rd (Mendoza and Moore). If Moore elects to stay at Oregon, that doesn't propel Simpson to the first round and selected by the Jets.

And it's more likely Moore remains in the draft and his agent simply tells him that he won't play for the Jets.

This guy lost to Fsu and look rattled but fml he will need to change asap once he gets here and become a diff person
Where is this assumption that he's a bad character coming from? The stuff that was said about Beck all over the internet during his time at Georgia was so beyond negative. You would have thought he was a mass murderer lol. Look at where we are today. He's an A+ leader & teammate, and he's an ultra competitor. Is the stuff about Simpson just a bunch of Bama and SEC homers talking nonsense, or is he actually a locker room cancer

I take any “bad character” rumors coming from the school the player is leaving, as BS.

Remember when Daniels transferred from ASU and his teammates wanted everybody to know what a locker room cancer he was, so they filmed themselves throwing his locker in the trash?

All that dude went on to do was win the Heisman and be a top draft pick.

There is nothing about bad character with Simpson. It's just a Canes fan who doesn't like him and the way he's pumped the SEC conference while playing for an SEC team.

He should go pro this year with a weak resume in a relatively weak class. Next year's class will be stronger.
Yeah he can and he could be a burnout like all the other QB’s who go into the NFL with less than 20 starts under their belts. Starts in college help so much with the transition to the NFL.

Qb is the exception. Teams reach for qbs constantly. If Moore stays and Simpson goes into the draft he’d almost certainly sneak into the first—too many teams with desperate QB needs and teams talk themselves into some crazy things when it comes to qb.

Brother, teams reach constantly....not just QBs. If Simpson doesn't get a first round grade, he's not going pro.

Danny Jones at 6 is a prime example
What are you talking about? Jones had a first round grade. Should he have had a first round grade? That's debatable. But he certainly had a first round grade. And that's why he declared after his junior year.

It can go either way but if he's looking for draft feedback and wants to declare, he believes developmentally he's beyond the college level.

Who are all of the strong QBs for next years' draft?

Manning and who else?

Sorsby, Leavitt, etc all weren't good enough to go in this years "weak class" so I'm not sure how that makes next years class any better.

Off the top: Moore, Chambliss, Hoover, and possibly Sorsby, Leavitt, Raiola...

This isn't an exhaustive list. I'm sure there's others I'm missing..

As far as being "good enough", one could say the same about Simpson but it's more about current resume & developmental ceiling. Another year helps everyone to different degrees but I don't believe Simpson benefits as much as others. He's got momentum now and should ride it. Another year brings him to the middle of a more competitive pack, IMHO.

Mensah, Maiava, Sayin, Sellers, etc. Obviously not all these guys are going to have seasons that position them as early round picks, but there’s certainly a larger pool of QBs compared to this season.
