this is truth.
It has more to do with stuff outside of football.

But these ppl hated the Miami Heat as well.

Miami the city is seen as something else to most. So happy to be BORN here in Miami though. DALE!

Whatever team drafts Simpson in the first round will regret it. No way you trust a qb with so few college starts who fell apart late in the season when things got tougher. His physical skills are good but nothing that wows you. Teams are just hoping that being a coaches son makes him ahead of the curve. It won’t. He will struggle immensely.
 
Every time I do this is the opposite happens.

Dude is not coming here. He’s gotten multiple first round projections. Nobody passes that up. Dude likely already got an agent’s advance and his parents are picking up tile and appliances for the new house.
 
I don't understand why there would be any hesitation. I'm not aware that there is any prior DSM-5 issue here. He needs to come to Miami, or there is prima facie cause for institutionalization.

As cane fans we really don’t understamd how far our brand has fallen nor how we are perceived in the south. One playoff appearance may not be enough to change that.

You have to realize that Miami was never and option, a back up, nor a last resort by a kid who’s from the south and was recruited by Saban. It’s a dream come true. And if he is getting day one grades it would be a hail of a pull by Mario. Money or not.

Kids want to feel good about the choices they make. I just don’t see him being hyped about forgoing the draft after playing at bama to come here.

But this is the type of stuff that Mario does. So let’s see.

We are not recruiting as a HS kid to spend 3-5 years in a city that is very foreign to them, feasting on ramen and fast food.
In the pre-portal era, recruiting a kid from deep south or Midwest was problematic because, as you noted, the culture clash is real. In the portal era, and in this case with a QB in Beck/Ward/Simpson situation, you're paying a young man millions of dollars to spend 6 months honing and refining his game surrounded and supported by elite athletes and good coaches. After 6 months, he can take his millions home and/or somewhere he seems more desirable to work on getting ready for the draft.

Truth. Some deep seeded haters here in NE Fl. Not even necessarily gator or nole fans. Connect the dots. I just tell them it's a Cane thing, you wouldn't understand.

It has nothing to do with the culture clash or going from rags to riches. Dude likely already got paid handsomely.

You can’t provide the same level of opportunity with nil in college as a first round nfl qb.

What I’m talking about here is their perception.

It’s the perception of his value and perception of his career path. Alabama was looked upon as the top of the mountain top. The elite of the elite. From his and his family’s perception and everyone around them it’s like being an Ivey league lawyer and working at Jones Day and then going to Morgan and Morgan.

In other words they might be acting a little snobbish about it.
Especially with an early day one projection.

If I’m Mario he has to have NFL connections so I’d be calling around to see if those 1st round projections are as accurate asTY’s daddy seems to think they are….i just don’t see this kid as a sure shot 1st round can’t lose 1st round d pick….

There are 32 teams in the nfl and about 10 good QBs. Several teams without one have to take a shot since nobody knows who to draft anyway. I'd take a couple every year if I were the GM.
