What’s your point? We should’ve been up by double digits, if the first half wasn’t a sh*t show. I said the loss wasn’t his fault, but he’s not absolved of any criticism. He turned the ball over three times.
two times.
the "pick" to Harley is 100% on Harley. It hit him in the hands, and he was cradling it. Actually, it was a heck of a throw given the coverage, even if he should have come off the read.
nevertheless, the rule is grading is simple: if the WR gets his hands on it, then it's now 100% his responsibility. Full stop. A throw that hits the receiver in the hands is not a pick. It's a fumble by the receiver, and that's how coaches see it and grade it. (even if the box score calls it a pick by rule).
Ask Lashlee and Likens what each player's card looks like after cut-ups last night. Tyler's sheet will have a "+" on the play, and Harley's will have a "-"
The fumble? Well, I agree that he should have been better withl ball security on the play, but I'm putting part of that on the OL. When your QB gets hit in the pocket, and you still have guys in the pattern not at the top of their routes, that's on the protection, not just the QB. Call it 50/50
The pick on the X-9 route, yeah, that's on him.
So, he committed 1 1/2 turnovers.
Did he play his best game? No. You're right, he didn't
Did he play well enough to help his team win? Yep. He Did.
I was always a pretty tough grader with my QB's, and that was a function of having a college coach, in particular, that was tough on me. That means I am with you and I don't give him a pass for his mistakes. But I also know he carried his weight when the team needed him to do so. His errors were overcome by his good play.
We can't same the same for pretty much anyone else on the team. With the possible exception of Rooster and Mallory, who were grinding, and whose good partly made ups for their mistakes.
