TVD Staying at UM Mega-Thread (F off Nick and the local Miami media dreck)

I dont discard his JR season but TVD put up more yards, more TDs in less games the next season when he took over. What did King ever deliver on. King was not a good fit for Lashlee offense. If you couldnt see the difference on offense when TVD took over, I dont know what else to say.
Lmao... I love when people try to teach me about football. U feel free going with whatever you would like. Reality or not it's your choice. What I will say is if you think that was lashlees offense he was calling when Tyler came in I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU. Lashlees offense is a power run offense. Hence why we always tried to pound cam even without any success. King his first season here ran lashlees offense to a tee and was FAR more productive in it. But Koo. Do u.

I expect he will be in the second group. I get it, both sitting out and leaving a likely 7 or 8 win team are in one's own best interest which would be understandable, but not really common, and the expectation is more a reflection of how I see him as a teammate and leader than the norm or the precedent.

(Maholmes and Lance omitted as their teams missed a bowl game and had their seasons rescheduled, respectively)
He’s not the leader though from what it sounds like. I’m not a big fan of his as the leader from what I know. Kids on the team were with Jake and now Jacurri. That says a lot.

Regardless, i would advise kids to sit unless they have something to prove or are in the playoffs.

I’m curious about projected 1st round players in other position groups who aren’t in the playoffs. Is there a position group that stands out as sitting more than the others?

Im asking because I’m trying to understand if this was retaliatory by them. I think they were and have been the aggressor. I don’t think this is the only player of ours they’ve tried to pick off and they’ve already hired away coaches from us.
I’d say measured more so than retaliatory. Saban has won a lot of football games on the backs of SoFla kids. He doesn’t want to see Miami become elite again.

I agree that he doesn’t want that. We can be a threat, and we’ve gotten some players they were after, but they win most recruitments. They sure do seem to come after us at times though - when we’re vulnerable- for players and staff.

HOLY SHEETT I missed one of the goat goats.. that's a Mt. Rushmore name who is a BEAST. Sorry I forgot @1murhurricane I actually assumed that name was already in there... my brain didnt register that your name wasnt there lol

I’m just sayin’…
Ok. I added now staying at UM to it a little while ago to complete the status.

The rumor was there when the thread was posted but it was unbeknownst to most that it was part of a ploy to get more dinero. You came in and said as much as to what was happening. I think it’s fine but I’m sure it could be better.

It was so FAR more productive that King led offense averaged less points and less yards than TVD. FAR more productive.

Such a power run offense....SMU passed for almost twice as many yards than rushing. King in that offense he ran to tee averaged 3.7 ypc carry while at Miami.
You think he is running Gus Malzahn offense but show me where he did that before King. He had to run that cause King couldnt make the throws. Why is Lashlee running the same offense now at SMU that he did for TVD when at Miami.

Come on bud, last year wasn't on the QB who played hurt, had a tiny hurt dog**** OL, cat**** WR, injuries at TE, and so many injuries at RB that we were playing a walk on meaningfully. Oh, did mention Josh fricking Gattis and the disfunction between the OC and QB coach? TVD was collateral damage, And again, JOSH GATTIS. I really give him a pass for that nonsense, he was getting hammered every time he dropped back. He was actually pretty gutty.

INCLUDING that ****show, the kid still has 35 TDs to 11 INTs in his career for 63%. I think he's going to beast this year?

We all need to zoom out. He was ridiculous in the 2nd half of the 2021 season, a season where he only got 2nd team reps all spring, summer and fall before King got hurt. Honestly I'm grateful the kid hasn't left over any of the last three portal windows.

I love u bro, but I’m not an emotional poster. I said what I said & I meant what I said. TVD has 6 outstanding games under his belt to end the season in 2021. He was cooking those 6 games; but, TVD has played in more than 6 games.

So let’s examine 9-7 TVD. (Again, I’m not including the games post injury which he sustained against Duke)

-Last 6 games to end the 2021 season? 5-1. All other games? 4-6.

-TVD has 4,668 yrds in 16 games. That looks great, except, 47% of that production came within, u guessed it, 6 games.

-TVD has 35 TDs in 16 games. Again, looks great; except, 57% of that production came within, wouldn’t u know it, 6 games.

So let’s discuss why TVD is 4-6 in those other games:

Sure, the low hanging fruit would be blaming Diaz or Gattis, except the reason y we weren’t 7-0 to end the season in 2021? B/c Tyler was a turnover machine against both UNC & a 3-win at the time FSU. Yes, it’s true we remember the 4th & 14 against FSU, but we forget the hole we dug for ourselves w/ TVDs ints.

OK, let’s Ffwd to 2022; everyone saw despite how chitty Gattis was calling plays, TVD was missing easy like Sunday morning throws. So Gattis changed up his philosophy & allowed TVD to start toting the rock. TVD threw the ball some 176 times during a 4 game stretch. By comparison, the most passes TVD had during any 4 game stretch under Lashlee was 163 times.

Now I know, not all passes are created equal, right? Except his career high in yards came under Gattis, ironically. Never mind all of that, let’s talk MTSU, u know the home game against a G5 opponent?

Who spotted MTSU an immediate lead? That would be TVD.

Who was boo’d out of the bldg & had to be replaced by a guy who’s stinking up Mizzou’s practice field? That would be TVD.

While TVD was absolutely dazzling those last 6 games to end the season in 2021, the fact is in those other 10, he’s a 247 ypg w 15 TDs / 8 int QB or 2:1 ratio.

So, let me be very clear…with all these shenanigans, whether it was meant to be leaked or not, now it’s out there. There’s no more Diaz excuses, there’s no more Gattis excuses. TVD has an OC that took the 35th rated QB coming out & put up #’s I hope he balls out, but as I said, none of this chit happens if that QB room was stacked; I’m not saying TVD don’t ask for 4 more $$, but our susceptibility to it.

And just remember, TVD wasn’t “hurt” until Week 7, which is y I’m not holding those other two games afterwards against him.

Man Caneville has gotten so many people in here to sour on TVD. If not for that report then none of this would have gotten out due to TVD staying, it was so unnecessary.
I'd argue TVDs actions got people to sour on him. At the end of the day while everyone can **** on the media reporting stuff they shouldn't, it doesn't change the facts in this case. It's like *****ing about Snowden leaking NSA ****.... You can do that but the actual issue was what was going on.

Take a look at the offense he ran prior to coming to Miami & again all I was discussing is king his first year at Miami.

Where is this thread?

To put into context.. Chris broke in 10.4 last year at states.. He hasnt really been challenged this year but running districts at 10.4 range he right on pace for what I thought he could touch, 10.2 or 10.1 if he was gonna not enroll early and defend title.. He still got regional and states...

Kinds funny that many of us (me included based more on how they do it versus why) ***** like little babies whenever this program tries to pry a single dollar more from our grubby little fingers.

Then...

....this nonsense goes down with Drewler Van Rosendyke and many of us are like "God**** it, Ruiz!!! You must be broke now! Look at this article in the New Times!!! I KNEW it!!!!"

Buy then the "problem" gets resolved one way or another and fairly quickly and we kinda act entitled to whatever was done to make it so.

We rightfully so as a fanbase have a persecution complex and some ptsd about good things never lasting but I think with this NIL stuff that we just got to be more focused on what has been and what is so versus any pessimistic prognostications.

Ruiz has far outperformed what many people initially expected from him, multiple sauces say there are many individuals behind him that are contributing in a more quiet manner, Rad is a competent moneyman, our last recruiting class did not suffer due to any NIL deficiencies and we just went to a Final Four largely due TO NIL.

A TON of other schools would LOVE to be able to say all of that.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. King had extreme trouble running any sort of RPO passes or the Read Option. I think stat-wise we are on par, maybe even better under TVD, but I haven't checked in a minute.

I personally felt the passing game at times was completely unstoppable under Van Dyke. There were times in 2021 against Pitt for example where we came out and scored at complete will.

Lashlee was a good OC, regardless of what people make it out to be. We had two really good offenses and wasted it because of a ****flap at HC. King and TVD played well under him.
