TVD Quote

Fumbles wise yes, but we have thrown a lot of INTs.

Only have 4 INTs on D. Many dropped INTs going back to game #1.
Our DBs are horrible lol idk why yal surprised

Fumbles were the only thing I was talking about . So anything after your ‘but’ , I wasn’t arguing or discussing

smh at this point it’s 2 distinct groups in our fanbase. And anything that happens negatively is on the coaches. Any thing positive like kids producing, it’s all the players talent..If a freshman and soph fumble its on the coach. If a WR is schemed open, cuts back and a opposing player makes a great effort strip..it’s the coach..but a WR going over 200..Coach has nothing to do with that. Improved oline play..no coaching. Avante being put in position to maker that pick..the coaching he received has nothing to do with it..we lose, it’s coaching…but if we win the games many of you thought we we’re definitely gonna lose..nah it’s just players overcoming bad coaching
If we had coaches I would agree with that. However we have > 50% corches of the staff … starting with the goof ball cheerleading coach manure. He has this look on him like he’s got the game sealed (like at the end of the VA and UNC games… but also GT and that almost bit him too) and he’s all excited. Dude should be looking to win games and not settling for trying not to lose games. He’s over his head and it’s been clear for a long time (for me he was done with FIU).

However Patke is prob worse than manure. Does he even try to coach special teams? It’s pathetic

I love this kid. First he talks **** to NCSU, and now even after a win he recognizes the potential to be much better AND has the guts to voice it. That is a leader telling the rest of his own team that UM can be a lot better.
He and Key Smith are the bright spots of this ****** season.

Not fumbling. Ball security. Duh.
Dude when I played ball we were a turnover machine , fumbling , throwing int’s you name it. We also had stupid penalties every game and it cost us. A dumb , badly coached team.

We had a new HC come in and he preached protecting the ball, if you couldn’t protect the ball you will not play. Tackling , ball security and not beating yourself were a focus , and we had drills that focused on that. And heavens forbid if you missed a tackle , got a me penalty or fumbled. Well a shocking development happed , we rarely turned the ball over and were a great tackling team. Very fundamentally sound and disciplined . I personally went from an average tackler to one of the best.

That’s building a culture and having the team take on the image of the coach. By years end coaches didn’t have to say crap. That’s why I say some of these cats couldn’t have played ball or been around the game. I’ve seen this first hand too many times to know. Then mix in our country club practices that doesn’t have much physicality at all. The proof is in the pudding on saturdays.

I’ll just add you to the list that don’t understand the point. Keep obsessing over the fumbles and avoiding my point of we find new ways to look sloppy and look like an undisciplined team. We Invent new ways to kill ourselves with fundamental issues.

Btw using Bama and Uga as examples proves you’ll fit in here perfectly. Because they scream badly coached teams and undisciplined Lol. Miami , Bama and Uga are pretty much identical. Very fundamentally sound teams.
Let's see.
130 out of 130 in red zone defense
119 out of 130 in turnover margin
95 out of 130 on penalties per game

95 out of 130 on scoring defense
91 out of 130 on 3rd down defense
84 out of 130 on total defense
57 out of 130 on 3rd touchdown conversions
32 out of 130 on scoring offense
24 out of 130 on points scored

Not exactly demanding excellence.

It’s called staying on topic . Are you capable of doing that ? I’m not obsessing over fumbles , that was the subject of the conversation before you went off topic arguing things people weren’t arguing . Why would I randomly start talking about things that 1) nobody was arguing 2) have been repeated on this board over and over and over all year . I mean how many different ways do we need to announce that the coaching sucks and we need a change ? We can’t talk about anything else regarding football and what’s going on with the team , until Manny is gone ? If we dare discuss something else besides coaching being bad , we’re slurpers and blind ? Lol ok

Yal get on here and whine and moan about the same thing over and over and over . You said it yourself how long you’ve been seeing these issues , yet you’re still thirsty to bring it up even when no one is talking about it . You don’t get tired of getting on here every day and saying the same thing in a different way ?
We KNOW Manny sucks. We KNOW we’ll be mediocre to average at best until he leaves . WE . KNOW.
When Manny was hired, I was admittedly willing to give him the opportunity to prove he deserved to be the HC of Miami. As the embarrassing losses mounted, the embarrassing calls during games, the embarrassing lack of discipline and focus (just to name a few things) continue to plague this team, I have become convinced Manny’s not it and in over his head. I’ve said so almost from the beginning of this season.

All that being said, there are 10 other on the field coaches that obviously spend more time with the players than Manny. My question is do they all suck as well? Or does the culture dictated by the HC nullify anything the other 10 coaches might teach or implement?

I’m pretty sure I know the answer but want to hear your take.

Oh and we are 79 out of 130 in red zone offense. Let's not let facts get in the way of a good, emotional argument.
BTW, numbers matter. They always do. I remember going to a coaching clinic about 15 years ago and Frank Beamer was the keynote presenter. He rolls out field position numbers and probability of scoring from starting point of the field. That is why he personally coached special teams and always why Virginia Tech was terrific in that phase of the game.

So the last 3 are offensive stats? Not bad if so.

Tvd mixed with Lashlee/ Likens making adjustments has helped a lot. The changes in the ol has too. At least one of our coordinators are worth their salt.

When Mario comes in as head coach, I'm hoping he keeps Lashlee and his staff in at least for year one to ensure continuity with TVD. That kid is special, and while Lashlee isn't the best play caller in the world, he's built one of the best QB rooms in college football.

I think the culture set by the head coach matters . Manny just seems in over his head like you said . I mean why are we busting out the turnover chain down 30 points ? Sht like that is all I need to see that lets me know Manny ain’t ready for big time sht.

But I’ve never been around a college program like that so I don’t really know how it works on a day to day basis, and I don’t know these coaches specifically . Do they give a **** about how the players represent them on the field , Manny be damned , or are they “Well if he doesn’t care I don’t care” type coaches ? Idk . Regardless of how it works , Manny ain’t it and I think it shows in the excuses he makes after bad losses . I see things from players that I just can’t respect Manny for allowing . I think the effort on the field especially from guys like Hall and Ivey is absolute trash because they know they won’t get benched regardless . That’s Manny’s fault . But again I don’t know if their playing time is decided by their position coaches and not him or what . I just think this staff needs to go at this point , Blake included . They’re not top tier program type guys . But I guess because I don’t think fumbling is specifically on coaches , that means I think they’re great coaches . CIS logic

Not sure on Mario but the plan has always been Lashlee will be gone after this year. He passed on smaller gigs last year. He’s ready to be a HC. He’s helping his case with Tvd’s growth.
