TVD Quote

How many kids would you like benched? **** near all of em make mistakes. We all went nuts cause Mallory sucks. Enter Arroyo. Fumble on what? His 5th career touch? Yes repeated mistakes by repeat offenders needs to be addressed. But this board thinks every kid who makes a mistake should have his scholarship revoked, like we don’t have 20 kids our hurt.
Maybe if a guy goes awol for days you bench him? Rather than putting him out there and losing to Fiu. Maybe not having a guy quit them allowing him
back on the team ,then cry about culture as an excuse. Like it’s the previous coaches fault

This culture is set , we play guys that repeatedly mess up, not just one time, so don’t act like i’m overreacting. Off field and on field. You are setting a precedence.

There’s a reason Miami leads the nation in missed tackles , has horrible penalties and play undisciplined. Former players talk about this all the time, it’s been a cancer here. But right when manny realizes his *** is on the line magically he says “ I’ve got to start taking pt from guys”. No? Shocking development. I‘ve seen Nesta and others get idiotic penalties too many times to count , a lot on third and longs amd guess what? They always stay in the game.

When there’s no threat of losing pt kids will always play undisciplined or careless. I’m not breaking some news here. The thing that I find the craziest is how many people here only see a badly coached team when they’re losing. Miami is one of the most undisciplined badly coached teams in America , a few close wins doesn’t change that. It would still be factual if we’d pulled out UNc and Uva and sat 7-2. Talent can be a deodorant , but bad coaching will always show in the end. Which it constantly has.

Ball security is no different than any other fundamental that’s coached.

Feel free to disagree. Keep blaming the players even though we have three years of watching all these mistakes.

We have county club like practices then people wonder why all of these issues continue popping up. I guarantee you this if it was our guys running plays down from behind stripping people manny would be getting the credit. You know that’s true.
Bruh..how?? How by any metric do you blame a player fumbling on a coach..bro that makes 0 sense. I know for a fact 4 has been fumbling since Deerfield high. That’s do to him at times tryna do too much.

Now the other **** u brought up earlier nobody will dispute that. But The QB situation, oline, mental mistakes and kicking in 2019..fixed for 2020..

the drops in 2020 that cost us games along with targeting penalties gone from the szn prior the oline was still inconsistent..the drops from 2020 have not been a issue. The targeting issue have not been there. The issue that still remains is the linebacker play and (imo) the overall talent on Defense

As I said the things you highlighted have been true..but to group in 3 first half fumbles each of which came after big gains Is crazy. Lastly the accountability thing..so everyone on this board would’ve been ok if 4 and 11 would’ve been punished and benched yesterday after they fumbled? ..u and I both know ppl would’ve been all over him for that

I think youe reaching on the fumbles 2 of the guys who had fumbles had career days. So on one hand your saying the coaches are to blame for the fumbles but on the other hand your not giving credit for their career days. So the coach is responsible for the fumbles but not the career day???? If they didn't fumble the game would have been over in the 1st quarter
Come on man! Real fans want the Canes to loose out so that we can hire Mario, Butch, Lebron, whomever it is this week and start the Netflix star at QB. Get with the program. Winning is bad. Every time Manuel Alberto Diaz wins, "real" Canes fans feelings get hurt. Oh well, Manuel and the red headed kid are fixing to hurt a lot of feelings.

8-4, win the ACC, big six bowl, and kill the offseason. GO CANES!!!

smh at this point it’s 2 distinct groups in our fanbase. And anything that happens negatively is on the coaches. Any thing positive like kids producing, it’s all the players talent..If a freshman and soph fumble its on the coach. If a WR is schemed open, cuts back and a opposing player makes a great effort strip..it’s the coach..but a WR going over 200..Coach has nothing to do with that. Improved oline play..no coaching. Avante being put in position to maker that pick..the coaching he received has nothing to do with it..we lose, it’s coaching…but if we win the games many of you thought we we’re definitely gonna lose..nah it’s just players overcoming bad coaching

You can enjoy yesterday's win, enjoy the winning streak, feel positive about the young stars we have, and acknowledge this is still a very poorly coached team in a myriad ways. It doesn't have to be an either/or proposition. Manny deserves credit for getting them to show up and play hard for him but the lack of discipline and fundamentals is as glaring as ever.

It’s awareness. The lack of awareness is astounding. You name it and we play like we’ve never been there before in a lot of situations. It’s all because of Manny and his lack of experience and focus on little things. You catch a ball or you are in the open field, expect someone to come from behind and rip the ball. Quit being so quick to celebrate and making a show after a tackle to where it could be a penalty etc. Nesta could have easily got one yesterday and I see it every week too. It’s little things. These guys need to be in the I expect to make these plays and go about their business and get back to the huddle and do it again. No, we need to grand stand bc we are so swaggy at 5-4.
So outside of yesterdays game was there another game this year where we fumbled three times?

Outside of Georgia has there been a team this year that has played 4 solid quarters of football? We had three turnovers in the 1st quartet we lost momentum and still never folded. Years past we would have folded. This team this year never has no matter the score. I would love to see 4 quarters of focused, and discplined play but right now if I cant get 4 quarters of no mistakes then I have to take the W because at the end of the day its about wins and loses and I'm hoping we can get into the ACC Championship Game and a good bowl game. We need all the practices we can get and we need to show recruits we're just a few playmakers away on defense to being solid
I agree with almost all of that. I take your point that only the elite teams play 60 good minutes. My point is that that's what I want UM to be. This thing where we're eking out a win against Georgia Tech just to barely stay alive in the race for the Coastal with 3 games left, that's not my aspiration for this program. I literally went to school with Ed Reed, Ken Dorsey, Joaquin Gonzalez, and those guys. I want this program to be elite. And I just do not see it happening with Manny at the helm. I was holding out hope until around the time we lost to Virginia; so, I'm new to moping. But I've seen enough here.

2 fumbles lost 2 picks vs Michigan State. Close enough.
Ok so are fumbles not part of the game? Where is there some rule that says University of Miami players are exempt from fumbling but if they do it's caused because of coaching? Call it whatever you want to but we're going to win out and be bowl elgible and go to a great bowl game. Them we're going to hit the offseason with Heisman candidate and kick a$$. Go Canes

So..throwing INTs is on a coach too👀..btw that MSU game turnt distinctly on 85s drop and the ensuing missed kick..but ig a drop and missed FG is on a coach also

2 Random question for y’all..is The HC at UGA considered a great coach?? Did you all think ED O was a great HC in 2019…if no, how Is they both about to be natty coaches?

I’m pretty sure Arroyo fumbled yesterday and he didn’t go back into the game after. At least I didn’t see him. And then Brown made a terrible play diving for the first down instead of putting his head down and he got pulled for Franklin.

After four losses by the half way mark that ended all chances of me being happy. Regardless if we go 8-4 or not I know what we have as the a HC. The evidence the last three years shows that and nothing has changed. I’m looking at the same program minus a really good qb , the same issues remain and are obvious. Ironically we’re laughing at UF about being stuck with Mullen but that’ll be happening here if Manny somehow saves his job.

I’ve been a Miami fan for almost 40 years and I’ve been watching the same movies for almost two decades. A few cute close wins doesn’t change what I see on that field. It could be because I know how the hot dogs are made from seeing behind the curtain a little. Your view tends to change a tad bit.

Jesus H Christ. We’re back to doing this nonsense?

“Saban La Monroe”
“Dabo‘s record after four years”
”Saban landed his helicopter “ , oops wrong forum for that excuse.

lol bruh it’s a simple Question. But whatever. Point is if you have great players, they can make mediocre to good coaches jobs much easier. Players make the difference. U replace Rob knowels with Tae on that same defensive play call he had on that pick and it’s a 20 yard completion..and the fans would think it was a bad defensive call…bruh I know u know ball so I already know u know this. Your just tired of the mediocre results. As we all are. But not everything is Xs and Os. The fumbles yesterday were undoubtedly on the players who fumbled the football

People want to blame the players, and yes it’s their fault for not securing the ball, but I think it’s more about having a team prepared and focused. Focused and alert players usually don’t fumble. Being prepared, being focused and alert, that’s up to the coaches to inculcate that during the week and overall as part of their culture.

Yup.

Furthermore, Georgia Tech players were actively going after and trying to punch those balls out—obviously something their defense does, yet our coaches didn't hammer into our kids' heads to focus more than normal on securing the ball against an aggressive defense like that.

Absolutely on coaches. These kids rolled in ill prepared after two "big" wins—a staple under Diaz.
