Official TVD Lost The Team in April

I worried about this earlier in the year when things were going well. If you have coached, you absolutely know/stress that the relationship between QB and his team is a tone setter. And it wasn’t there earlier in the year, even when things were going well.

Does he have to be a rah rah guy? No. Peyton Manning used to chew half his team out.
But he needs to be doing something other than sitting by himself. Dude isn’t talking to anyone and rarely does anyone go and talk to him, whether that be players or coaches. He‘s not even looking at previous plays to figure things out.

I don’t know what this looks like during the week and in practices.

What’s interesting is that TVD looked genuinely happy when Emory did what he did.

There is already enough to criticize him for. I don’t think speculation on things we can’t confirm does us any good.

In combat, even though fighting against guerrillas - when everyone pretty much dressed the same - I could always rely on studying body language to pick out the bad guys.

It was like picking out the guys waving a yellow flag.

You've heard me here - he's flat, isolated, disinterested, and not a team player - certainly not a real asset.

I don't know what his problem is - and at this point I don't give a happy ****.

Emory does it right - and Emory plays to do his part. You'll note the receivers and rest of the offense played their hearts out for Emory.

Experience isn't worth a tinkers dam - if you're not fighting to win for your team mates - not for You - for the others.

Asset or Liability? If a liability - even a talented liability - it's still a liability.

Leadership is doing. Not talking.

Park his *** on the bench. Get someone who wants to play, do their best, and do it for the others.

I don't think so.

I think he knows he has no other option. Everyone saw the gameplan against Clemson. Even though we won, you can't play the rest of the schedule with the offense that limited.
No other is true but Mario was hyping him before the season and during pressers, extols his attributes including being a great leader.

Look, I’m all for benching TVD to give him time to heal, but this whole take is BS. Go watch that Texas A&M game again.

Rewatch any game this season. That OL holds remarkably well. This team is not out to sabotage the QB. No sir.

Also, TVD may have had offers but he stayed. If anything, that showed loyalty.

TVD was injured last year and his game went off the rails. He is injured this year too.

Let him SIT!

He goes to X all the time because of lack of preparation and seriousness in studying film
Is this legit or are we speculating?

If TVD isn't watching film (Mario and Dawson would know how much time he is spending on film because that's recorded in the app) and Dawson and Mario are still playing him then Mario and Dawson need to go. I doubt Mario "Mr. Back to Work" will just ignore the lack of preparation from his QB and still play him. Manny Diaz, sure because it happened with various players and different issues. But Mario? For all his faults and flaws, playing a kid who isn't working doesn't seem to be part of Mario's DNA

So during the offseason Mario decides not to bring in competition at a position he thinks lacks leadership all the while touting the need for leaders while recruiting? Doesn't make sense to me.

There’s some serious speculation going on here and it’s mostly hyperbolic on the anti TVD side.
The one thing that’s undeniable is he doesn’t look right mentally AND the injuries are clearly affecting some of his throws.
It’s also pretty clear that he’s not a great leader, but he sure was fired up when Williams lead the comeback against Clemson and That’s the disconnect that I don’t get.
The thing he said in his press conference that was alarming is he should’ve watched more film. What was he doing for the past two weeks when he wasn’t practicing?
that being said, the Tyler we saw against A&M was pretty incredible. He’s got a ton of arm talent and can make all the throws when his heads on right and gives us the best shot on the road at NC State and in Tallahassee. Putting Williams in a spot like that is almost unfair IMO. hopefully someone gets in Tyler’s ear this week because all he had to do is check it down early most of the Virginia game and we would’ve won by 14.

I said it back in April that TVD threatening to leave to Alabama would backfire because real leaders don't abandon the team for their own personal goals. Yesterday at the game, TVD was entirely alone moping on the sideline talking to no one. At one point, he went over the OL to give them a little fake rah rah speech and it was awkward and they didn't even lift their heads. they paid zero attention to him. he sat on the bench alone. as @Cribby said not too log ago, he hasn't been voted a captain the last few games.

he has lost the team and they don't care about him
As I said when the transfer stuff drop, he isn't good enough for us to be bending over backwards for. Let him leave.

He clearly isn't watching film and maybe enjoying a lil too much big man on campus spotlight.

I hope whatever bump in NIL money he got came w performance based stipulations.

I’m glad everyone is finally waking up to what I’ve been saying. I had multiple ppl try and argue last week but now seems everyone is seeing it. Not sure why it took another bad performance for ppl to realize but hey that’s where the program is now. Next 4 games will be interesting
Must be TVD’s family members brother 😂🤣😂🤣

I think somebody on here said he never throws the checkdown out of the back field so I went back and watched past games and watched the running back all game against UVA. I kept screaming throw to back even when he did he waited so late they had time to rally and tackle him. If he does it earlier it opens intermediate stuff behind them cause they will start biting

Dude, I screamed “THE FLAT THE FLAT!!!” the entire first half sitting up in the nose bleeds with my man @supacane. People were turning their heads and staring, I was so loud I lost my **** voice. So frustrating bro…
