TVD is the problem

you guys sound nuts. I made a comment about Garcia but lets be real. there were eat least 6 bad drops. the Parrish drop was a td, brashard keeps us alive. there was a timing issue but our wrs cant get open, run slow and bad routes, and made drops. cant blame it all on him especially 2nd half
Unfocused play was the cause of this defeat.

Till we learn to focus we will always be knocking on the door but never able to win these type of games.

We will only help opponents rankings with our defeat .

We are way better than T@M in talent but in mature focus play we’re NOT I REPEAT NOT A TOP 25-30 TEAM.

We would have LOST this game at home .

I love our team and coaches we’re on the right path but we saw MENTALLY we are not able to battle BIG TEAMS YET .

Right now FSU beats us at home till we learn to FOCUS everything else is moving forward talent wise we’re LOADED but mentally WEAK.

So we are just going to throw away our qb after a couple of outings in a new offense? We aren’t even in ACC play yet. It’s like we live in some hyperbolic chamber where when we lose it’s the same as the last 20 years. There can be no nuance. I think y’all are really just mad because we were better than the team we lined up across from. That’s the sucky part. I’d like to think we could learn from this as coaches and players and move forward. But I swear we are so stuck in a failure mind-frame that y’all can’t even see it as a possibility.
Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. If you think TVD will magically start going through his progressions instead of panicking and throwing it erratically then I am afraid you are in for a frustrating year. Dudes had 6 months now to figure this offense out.

Unfocused play doesn’t matter if Shnelly or JJ was coaching you cannot execute any play or game plan ir win.

We an immature team plain and simple and should drop to 27 maybe if not NOLES will make sure we do .
Now it’s out there and known we crack under pressure .

We have 3 more losses coming with this level of immature play if we wake up and play the way a we know we can WE RUN THE TABLE.

But right now we just help opponents rankings and inspiring them we become the hunted food.

Some of you ***kers are incredible.

TVD finished last season passing for over 300 yards and 3+ TD’s in 6 straight games, but now “he’s the problem”? You have got to be ****** kidding.

Mario and Gattis show up and suddenly TVD looks like ****, and receivers like George and Brinson (which showed great potential last season) are both struggling, as well as the rest of our WR room.

So what is the common denominator here? Use your brain before posting such bullshyt. This happens with every new coaching staff. A portion of our fan base finds no fault in them until it’s too late.

Mario and Gattis must make adjustments and sculpt the offense to our player’s strengths. Failure to do this will result in more putrid play from our passing game.

TVD didn’t just all of a sudden forget to play the QB position at a high level. Our coaches are getting paid a king’s ransom to run a scheme that maximizes our player’s best skills, not to try to make them do what they’re not good or proficient at.

What is obvious is that TVD never really knew how to play the position at a high level.

Sorry you’re mad at Gattis that TVD couldn’t hit wide open receivers in stride. Or that he has to go through progressions like a big boy now.

Everything about the team is better this year. Other than QB and WR we actually looked kinda like a big boy ball club.

The WRs got better as the night wore on and I suspect they’ll continue to improve if their QB doesn’t lead them into highlight reel hits or make them dive to catch the ball without a defender around… or just miss the throw entirely.

He went from going through his progressions last season to not doing it this season. Like you said, past performance.

If we had a QB that could run in this scheme it would work well. Plus things needs to be simplified outside.

The crosser to Redding could have been a 40 yard gain. It was the worst throw I’ve seen him make

It could have, absolutely......and should have. But if your offense is predicated on him needing 4 seconds for a play like that to develop, you're setting yourself up for failure down the line if your OLine doesn't hold up or you encounter a blitz heavy team. That play was very slow.....so slow that by the time he uncorked it, he was taking a hit.

If we only saw those once in a while, i would say fine. It was a good call and worked. But we saw him with all the time in the world and guys still in patterns that hadn't developed yet. It truly appears that Gattis and TVD are NOT a good fit. As a good coach though, you tweak things to allow your star players to succeed. The run game was tweaked and we see those benefits. The pass game is the opposite. It looks really out of sync and slow.

I feel like TVD picks the WR he’s going to throw to before we even snap the ball, and I think he regularly misses open WRs because of that.

If we can’t score a TD against a team missing 4 starters in the backfield…here we come Quack Duck Burrito Bowl

it appears that Gattis needs to mold his offense to the current roster. TVD is a great talent. He’s capable. He just hasn’t gotten comfortable yet. We keep looking to Garcia he’ll be ready once TVD leaves but I believe strongly he would struggle too. The WR talent is mediocre there are no gamechangers & it shows. Our rb’s are balling, Mallory came to play & Oline was solid all night.

Go read what Michigan fans said about Gattis. Then go read Oregons fans gripes on Mario’s offensive MO the last few years. Then watch our offense. After that go watch Tvd in Lashlees offense. We knew this was a possibility. @Liberty City El warned the board.

After watching this offense three weeks , the route concepts , play calling , clock management and you still feel like he’s the issue you should probably stay away from talking football.
100% @Cribby the issue is - how does Mario not see it? How does he not evolve if saban can. How does this all star staff not tell him and how does he not let an environment where he can hear tough feedback from them exist.

TVD with Gattis is the problem.. it's both which makes it a Mario issue...

He said he would play to TVD's strengths... Right now he's having TVD neutered...

TVD needs to play better, no question about it, but he's not the problem. We have WR's who can't catch and cannot create separation. Find me a QB that can win without WR's and you probably have a HOF one at that.

Also, not having the best WR on the field last night didn't help.

New offense, no Lashlee, no Rambo, no Harley, I always thought Garcia was the gunslinger and had a higher ceiling. A QB can turn to **** pretty quick when they lose confidence and he wasn't getting pressure, OL did a good job protecting him.

All of the above. Head scratchin play calling at times, especially in the red zone. A very innacurate TVD missing throws he almost always makes. Pass catchers with bad drops and worse routes. Throw in some special teams failures on top of that.

We still managed 27 first downs. I think they are still looking for the last team to do that and not score a TD.

More than one thing can be true.

The WRs are awful but TVD needs a year in this offense before it gets better.

TVD throwing short when he had a guy wide open in the middle of the field for a first down is not on the OC. He is just not seeing everything yet and trying to go too fast. He looked nervous and panicked all night.

Game management was awful, coaches did awful job preparing this offense. They couldn't figure one mismatch to take advantage of that overly shorthanded D.

Lots of work to be done all around.
Because there wasn’t one and when the defense did make a mistake we didn’t capitalize.
