TVD is the problem

I
You first-level thinkers are always so tiresome. There should be a high-IQ premium board here so more cogent men can avoid you knuckle-draggers who lack the cognitive ability to think in terms of things beyond your binary comfort-box. I understand this is genetic, poor genes passed down from limited bloodlines. However, at least try and understand many things can be true at once, and even more importantly many things are the result of many other things. This is not like your morning decision on whether to continue to lay in your fecal-soiled sheets or rise up and wash yourself.
Understand exactly what you're saying and I agree 100%.im washing my sheets right now as I type. I just hope the others are on the same page we are.

Your primary receiver is out, 6 dropped passes…yeah it’s TVD. How many INT did he have? Is he not looking off targets, yes. Is he a bit glassy eyed, yes. Easy for us to sit on our couch and call him out. He handed the ball off well and executed the flea flicker well. You try standing at the 10 yard line in that mad house. Most of you would **** your pants and call mama. He ain’t Jesus but he sure ain’t Judas.

Some of you ***kers are incredible.

TVD finished last season passing for over 300 yards and 3+ TD’s in 6 straight games, but now “he’s the problem”? You have got to be ****** kidding.

Mario and Gattis show up and suddenly TVD looks like ****, and receivers like George and Brinson (which showed great potential last season) are both struggling, as well as the rest of our WR room.

So what is the common denominator here? Use your brain before posting such bullshyt. This happens with every new coaching staff. A portion of our fan base finds no fault in them until it’s too late.

Mario and Gattis must make adjustments and sculpt the offense to our player’s strengths. Failure to do this will result in more putrid play from our passing game.

TVD didn’t just all of a sudden forget to play the QB position at a high level. Our coaches are getting paid a king’s ransom to run a scheme that maximizes our player’s best skills, not to try to make them do what they’re not good or proficient at.
Literally TVD is exactly who he was last year.

Locks onto one guy, unfortunately for him he doesn’t have Rambo to lean on.

The current reality is it’s a bro-style offense that a bunch of average and a bunch of 2nd year WRs that came in knowing nothing about rhythm and timing up routes and QB drops.. can’t run anything but a screen and a 9 are trying to get it done.

X has his routes and timing perfected. Tyler hits his drop step and ball is supposed to be coming out and receivers are either ahead of the rhythm or behind. Not running the right depth. No consistency and no separation. A bro-style offense has to have rhythm and we can’t figure it out.

From Lashlee to this is high school to NFL in terms of concepts and difficulty. We are Michigan in 2019. This is exactly what they looked like. There’s a reason they were very good in year 3.. it takes that long to iron it out and perfect it.

Hard to overcome incredibly poor QB play and soft WRs in the red zone.

He was bad against Southern Miss and he was bad tonight.

Right now TVD is the problem for this offense.
I would replace him soon. He looks shell shocked 😲... camera would pan over to him and he looked lost

What I saw from TVD tonight was a lack of moxey. I didnt see a will to win from him in critical situations. Running out of bounds when he scrambled on 3rd down. Diving for the ground whenever a defender gets within social distance. The guy is 6'-4" - 230 lbs and seems afraid to absorb any contact.

Again, just no gusto. To me, he looked like a rich kid from Connecticut with a big arm.
You hit the nail on the head right here, he didn’t show no fight on some of those runs despite his size. It was crazy to see

Good points but this is an indictment on TVD. As a mock 1st rd pick he has to be able to do more than run a simple 1 read offense. So far it's not a good match I expected better from both.
I never thought he was a first rounder. He played Cfb for just over a half a season. He needs more seasoning. He hasn’t seen much as a qb.

The missed throw to Redding was a killer and clearly on TVD. The receivers definitely deserve some blame and so does TVD.

TVD and the pass catchers have to get their **** together.

I know TVD wasn’t inspiring the most confidence, but Gattis should have been better in the red zone.

There can be (and are) many truths.

We ran the ball well. But we did not run it well in the red zone.

We came out taking shots, we were not conservative. We couldn’t connect. Even when we did, TVD’s eye manipulation and ball placement left a lot to be desired. He seemed to throw more ducks last night than he threw all last year.

However, he still threw enough accurate balls that were there for the taking to win this game. Someone needed to make a play.

Play calling overall was fine, but ****e in the red zone. Now if you combine all those factors= Empty red zone trips

Rique muff was disastrous, but it was in the 1st half and we were only down 7 going into half. We had a gift of a lifetime with 3 mins left and par for the course couldn’t come up with it.

In big games like that, your studs need to shine, and no one did. Our studs were duds, at least on offense.

Plays were there for the taking, & if this continues then Gattis is going to have to adjust and make it work because that’s what’s he’s paid to do. Figure it the fvck out.

Very disappointing evening, but there were a lot of positives. These are growing pains. Onward & forward.

Two things could be correct. I think we have an offense that doesn’t maximize our talent and TVD isn’t as good as we had hoped for. While the offense may not be perfectly suited for the team, he missed a bunch of throws and the timing is off.

This is exactly what happened. Good post.

He doesn't look as comfortable as last year but that could be result of a new system. I still have faith the offense will click. As well as we run the ball I expected more play action. Lot of plays I would like to see.

As I was walking back to my hotel from the stadium I stopped in a sports bar to catch some of the Fresno State vs USC game. I saw Fresno State's backup QB (6' - 190 lbs) scrambling and running on 3rd downs taking on USC's linebackers trying to get a first down in a game where Fresno State trailed 42-24 in the 4th quarter.

This morning Im watching ESPN's recap of yesterday's games and Im seeing several non-athletic QB's who are smaller in stature than TVD running and taking on defenders in an effort to make a play. We saw the antithesis of that from TVD last night.

Again, TVD is starting to look like his recruiting bio...a rich kid from Connecticut with a huge arm.
