TVD Is Coming Back

Jake is a gamer. He could have easily skipped out on his senior season and still gotten a scholly. He wanted to play. I think he really believes Mario is building something. And I think he looks a lot better in a different offense. Either way, I’d rather have two QBs with game experience in case TVD goes down again
 
TVD didn’t have anywhere to go. Injury and awful season knocked him out of the first 5 rounds at least.

Unless he transferred his only option was to come back. I’m happy he is coming back. We are better with him at QB.

I hope they have a new QB coach and coordinator next year though and I would assume they wouldn’t want to come back if gattis was returning. We have to think gattis is gone with news that both QB’s actually want to return.
 
If this is a done deal then gotta think Ruiz took care of Jake a little bit more too as he didn't do enough to win any jobs here but the kid would've had a lot of options to go elsewhere. Not that NIL $$$ necessarily are the deciding factors in these situations but I'm sure it helps and it sure as **** is nice that it seemingly has mostly worked in our favor so far.

Sooo, here's what Ferman/Shodell are saying -


Garcia has met with Cristobal at least once already to discuss his role on the team moving forward,

"as of now staying ... but believe there will be more meetings with him and coaches to define his role moving forward etc. and that will really solidify him"

Garcia could still opt to go in the portal, which has a 45-day window starting Dec. 5, depending on what happens moving forward with the offense and any opportunities elsewhere.

So, story could change, or not...

He would have plenty of opportunity to sign elsewhere just based on the potential of two seasons ago.

Nobody would fault him or Garcia for this year. Anyone with even a high school understanding of the game realizes how bad of a job Gattis and company did. Both QB's would get a pass on this year.

The only ones who would have a hard time going anywhere would be Brown and Matocha. Matocha because he literally has nothing to sell. Brown, because it's painfully obvious he's not good at the one thing QB's are known for, throwing the ball.

Dude could easily start next season depending on how TVD heals/performs.

Nfl teams don’t view things the same way fans do
 
Waaay too many folks here discounting how good Jake Garcia is. Im of the opinion that Jake will be the 2024 and 2025 starter.

Im very excited to see initial reports that both TVD and Garcia are coming back.

I just don’t see it. I’d be curious does he even get a grade. Maybe @DMoney can get with his boy petey and provide us a little insight on what draft grade Tyler wouldve gotten if he came out this year.

As a fan, I’m all about stacking chips at every position. I can think of worse backups than Jake to have. But he does have some growing to do in my opinion on and off the field if he is going to be groomed to be a starter. I think perhaps in the right system at the right school he could start.

Let me ask you, why do you think Jake was passed over by Brown?
