Official TVD comments on Hard Rock

Is he getting his NIL pulled or re-negotiated? I watched the video and understand the point he was "trying" to make but definitely did not "sell" the Miami brand too well... I like TVD but just wondering if comments like this would be a financial negative in the age of NIL since he is getting paid to promote his, and Miami's, brand...

There is only one game in town in College Station. There are 10K things to do on a Miami SFL weekend. USC doesn’t have big crows either. Private schools in large metropolitan areas where very little alumni live is not a unique problem to Miami. I’ll throw Northwestern and BC in for ***** and giggles. Pro teams have more support because they pull fans despite of college affiliation as well as opposing fans attend.

Miami does better when we win and when we win there are more 3:30pm and night game slots which also help with attendance. I get that there are disadvantages with playing at Hard Rock (expensive concessions, exclusive parking don’t help) but when Miami wins, there is a bump in attendance. Unfortunately we have not won much the last 20 years. Who wants to pay to see Lucy pull the ball away from Charlie Brown?
The "there is so much to do in South Florida" excuse for low attendance is lame.

Tvd getting weirder and weirder honestly. You know how many kids have played for Miami in the last decade and “openly” made comments like that ? Literally none except him. They may think it but they wouldn’t go out publicly and say that. That’s pretty crazy. He needs to get it together
He didn’t have Mario and Mirabal coaching that OL which makes it more impressive. He had this group for two years before Mario got ahold of them. I‘m not the highest Rhett guy but TVD didn’t look this lost and our receivers could actually block. Likens coached that group up.
The same Lashee that loves running into 8 in the box on 2nd and long with Cam Harris

Lashee was ok passing wise once he scaled back the offense for TVD

He's a young man who needs and will learn all things life.

With that said, his actual comments are not good from a program optics point of view, truth or not.
Yeah ... kind of the opposite of helping to recruit FOR your program. Seems to lack some fundamental common sense.

Curious...

are in you in SoFL?
Don't live in SoFl anymore. Graduated
from Miami in 2006. Last time I was in Miami was early 2018.

There are 6-7 home games a year. It's not a huge commitment to make most of those games if you are using the excuse that there is so much to do in South Florida.

I was very disappointed, and a touch surprised, how few students showed up to So Miss.

Maybe that's just the type of student that goes to UM now?
Do you know how many undergrad students are enrolled at the University of Miami? Let me give you a hint. Even if half the entire student body showed up, it would be about 5% of the entire stadium. This has zero to do with student attendance.

All they have to do is schedule better home games they will get better attendance who in the **** wants to go to a game where you know it's gonna be a blowout win

You can literally buy tickets for most games for $15. Parking is $25 in the yellow lot. You don't need to buy from the concessions. All things considered it's pretty cheap and a **** good value. And regarding the concessions, yes they may be a bit pricey but have you been to the Swamp in Gainesville? That place is a ****hole with nothing but cold Papa Johns pizza and nasty pre-made hamburgers that I wouldn't feed to my dog.

And they aint reaching out for his
They ain’t reaching out for much

More importantly take a look at other programs in major cities and you'll see the only one's that average higher attendance than Miami are USC(LA) and Washington(Seattle). That's a more fair comparison.

Lashlee schemed guys wide ******* open **** near every game. From Brevin the previous year to Mallory, Rooster , Harley , Arroyo and Rambo. I’m talking no defender in the screen. That’s what great play callers do. Know the coverage , send beaters at coverage and beat it. He also used smoke in mirrors to get guys open by manipulating guys in their coverages. Rambo got all those 1 v 1 attempts because of formations and scheme. He did with this Ol pre being coached by Mario / Mirabal. The guy yoh guys are white knighting needs to step his **** game up. Period.

That and he couldn't pull A&M out of having two safeties sitting back patrolling the field. Gattis can kick rocks if that's the best he's got.

hes their position coach. they've had issues since spring. ask anyone who watched the spring practices. you can go back and find all the spring write ups on this website. this isnt a oh this is new issue. gattis been here since feb. he went through all of spring camp and fall with these guys.

actually go back and read up on Michigan from their board - they're happy gattis is gone and they did complain about their WRs.

somehow players blocked last year but this year all these guys (all of them) can't even remotely block? if I replace WR coaches, you dont think that guy can get them to block?

again, its on the teacher bc hes responsible for the entire room.

you all blamed Manny correctly for poor LB play. we got a better coach in here training the LBs and now suddenly they made a HUGE improvement and they're less talented than the WR room is
They blocked last year? We could not run the ball. Drops were pervasive the first half of last season. It changed when Harley stepped up and finally took a more on field leadership position. Even Rambo had the dropsy. He did have a big game against Michigan State especially since they were playing bailout zone and it was pitch and catch King to Rambo. Mallory played well down the stretch but was struggling the first half of the season.

Its very lame. The same people that don't go to games because there is so much to do, are at home watching from their couch playing head coach on Twitter.
Never understood this argument. Such a poor excuse because
1. Those other things likely are also things that revolve around being in the weather (which people will use as an excuse)
And 2. This just supports the argument of having a front running fan base. If you seriously can’t be bothered to skip doing one of those “multitude of other things” for 7 days out of your year then you flat out just aren’t a true fan. It’s okay to like other things more, but don’t turn around and says it’s not because the team isn’t a priority. It’s 7 games. 7 Saturday’s out of the year to go out and support the team busting their *** to rep your city and your fandom so you can hop on social media and brag to the world about your “favorite” team. Good or bad you should be showing up because they need that support. Being a fan means being a part of something bigger than yourself. It’s a community. Other college fan bases understand this. I guarantee you could move a beach, nightclubs, restaurants, amphitheaters, and whatever else into college station tomorrow and guess what? They’re still packing that stadium to the gills.

I appreciate the update.

I perhaps needed a refresher from my 4-years there as a student.

I just don't recall the student section, as per my original point, being so lightly filled "back in the day" when I was a Rathskellar OG.

But not against anybody with a pulse. From my advantage point against Clemson regardless of King getting murdered nobody got separation the whole game. The only time was Wiggins on a 50/50 ball where he could have made a play but didn't.

The knock on Rambo at OU was hands but nobody denied the kid had talent at the college level. Sometimes a change is good and it did him good. Not like Riley could not scheme nor recruit talent and develop it. Same with Hartley which was focus and maturity. He stepped up second half of 21. Everybody else on roster was 4th or 5th options. They benefitted from Rambo, Harley and Mallory.

I have issues with what Gattis is doing from a passing game perspective. Quite a few actually, but even if we run more RPO and attack outside the hashes with what remains on roster, I'm not sure we have a viable #1 or #2. But to your point, Gattis is going to have to scheme up what he has on roster. Is he capable? My fear is no.

I will give Durkin credit. His kids did a good job with matchup zone and passing off in zone coverage, which is remarkable with 2 kids suspended and 2 kids tossed. Their communication was impressive. I'll take their DB coach.

A running quarterback would have had a 100 yards because there were lanes to tuck and run.

I sit in section 310, right above the student section. your original post was warranted. the 1st week the student section was full 30 minutes before kickoff. week 2 it was completely empty. there was clear difference between both games.
