Official TVD comments on Hard Rock

My last opinion on this and the best way to handle it imo would be if Rad called TVD into his office. That's actually who should be handling it as it's not necessarily Mario's job 1 to deal with program image issues. It also essentially let's TVD know how important he is as a "face" of the school if the AD is the one ****ed.

On a lighter note: for all you guys saying we're the "worst" fanbase or we have the most maniacs, NEVER underestimate the ability for CFB to wildly exceed your expectations and imagination on both fronts.

This argument is so **** tired/stupid.

He represents the school and trashed the fanbase. He was wrong.

You are an alumus (just like I am) and represent the school too (however meaningless your representation is) and I wish you would also STFU.
I mean it is a tough year for the team the 1st 3 home games were dog**** teams that is useless to spend hard earned money to go see. But when it’s a good game Hard Rock is loud and a great stadium.

On a positive note, It will help recruit players that have a fear of crowds. Additionally, Those who preferred playing to 2020 Covid crowds will have an amazing game experience.

The attendance numbers are how many tickets were sold, not how many attended. They don't take stubs or any prior method to count who came through the gates. So if they say there's 45k at a game, you can bet its less.

I don't know why it bugs me, it seems intentionally deceptive. A simple way of actually keeping track is turnstyles, but then you've gotta tabulate and announce later. It was always cool being in the stadium back in the day and waiting to hear how many actual people were there.
The stadium absolutely tracks who attends. Have you gone into any sporting event? When you get your ticket scanned you have to walk through those things (don’t know what they are called) you have to push to enter. They track everyone that walks in. However, those numbers are always lower than ticket sales and never reveal it; therefore, they announce ticket sale numbers instead.

Ruiz has the pulse of UM student athletes and Van Dyke only reiterated it. Hard Rock is fine but we're one of a handful of schools that play at a professional stadium and it isn't helping. Saturday will only be another notch in the belt of John Ruiz when there's 12k fans at Sun Lifeless.
Fans are only thinking of their convenience and experience at the venue while the university of Miami and Ruiz family are thinking of the business our athletic department is missing leasing in a stadium that is 45 minutes away.

For years, fans cried about this program not prioritizing their athletics, an athletic department that doesn’t have the boosters to compete with the SEC of the world’s, we finally have an opportunity to have our own stadium to upgrade our program significantly and some of them would still rather still not want to leave the HRS for selfish reasons. Miami won’t compete for anything with this current business model too much longer.

Thankfully, those fans aren’t changing the inevitable.

What’s the inevitable????

Taking away the limited green space in Dade County to create a “student atmosphere stadium” for 12k undergrads???

From Rad to local politicians everyone publicly has essentially said. Chill on building a stadium in Tropical Park we like Hard Rock.

I wish we can create an experiment, lay down some turf in Wastco for the spring game and see how many of those current students attend.

This tropical park “push” from CIS is the same BS with pushing Tate Martel. Smh

If you don’t have season tix or attend at least 1 game annually…. I dont care about your rebuttal ✊🏾

this is what they deserve when they schedule Bethune, Southern Miss and Middle Tenn. I would want a refund.
This is why we dropped our club seats that and sucking. $1,800 for those 3 games then another $250 for food and drinks. Sometimes so hot in sun would watch inside. Total waste. Stadium east west configuration not fan friendly for east side.

Yeah cuz those Virginia, VT, and UNC crowds are amazing. Standing room only right smh

Miami fans need a night game, but not to late, need a big time opponent, but can't be any other events in town, team needs to have won 11 straight games by 100+ points, and College Gameday has to be on campus or they not interested

I guess you've never attended UM. if you did, you'd know ti doesn't matter where the stadium is. students dont go to UM for football period. they go for the city, nightlife, etc. also, hes right. miami isnt a college town and well never have a college atmosphere. stop getting salty for something well never be. if you want that, support a podunk team in a college town. UM is treated like a pro team.
It's crazy that our fans try so hard to make us a college town when we will never be one.

If you ever go to Dolphin games, almost half of the fans are there cheering for the other team. They aren't there to see the Dolphins. Of course we had people posting here last week that how many people were in the stands didn't make a difference. LOL
Been that way for years. All the people that have migrated from the NE are fans of other teams. Go to a Jets game in the OB and half the crowd screaming J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets. I HATED that ****.

You do realize the majority of season ticket holders and non come from Broward north right?

A stadium does nothing as far as getting more seats in the stadium. A great product on the field does. It's really that simple and it's been this way since UM started football.

If you can’t understand why your starting QB, who is the leader and ambassador, getting paid legit money now to represent the Miami Hurricanes get’s taped trashing the game environment and stating he prefers to play away game is bad for recruiting and program perception then I question your critical thinking skills. His statements will not motivate more fans to show up. If anything it will get people against him. Next time he shows up and plays like trash like he did last Sat he should get booed, and deserve everything he has sown by being an idiot.

Do you go to games?

We're in a **** conference and unfortunately most of our conference opponents are never ranked. When we play ranked teams at home we usually have good turnout.

Miami is becoming so unlivable for locals. The addition of the transplants and rising costs along w a lot of the staples disappearing.

WTF is a nuclear reactor doing on their campus?
Exactly. I'm still trying to figure THAT out but did run across this which makes the story even better:

I see no issue with her demand.

Shows that she at-least cares about winning.

In fact, she makes our Banner flying seem limp and impotent.

Game on lady. Game on.
