TVD Announced as Starter

Given the egregious mismanagement of the QB room and Jacurri's apparent plan to sit out this season to enter the transfer portal, how on earth was there anyone debating against those of us who were saying all offseason that we needed BOTH a premier QB recruit out of high school AND a top-tier transfer QB after the 2023 season?

Seriously? Even those of us who weren't privy to the information about Jacurri intending to leave after the season were clamoring for that all spring/summer.
I'm running out of jokes. This is actually starting to feel like abuse.

Why is Brown still on the team then?

There is no other choice but for the QB room to look different unless Mario wants to get fired after year #3.
I meant more that we won’t be held hostage by multiple players and Mario will have more options should things go south with the QB position.

There’s another factor regarding JB that is in play. I’m not gonna mention it publicly

Also, Miami is already back channeling for their 2024 starter and competition longer term for Emory

I hope their plan works out

The idea that Jacurri is sitting out on purpose seems stupid af to me. That kid is a football player through and through.

This staff waited too long to go away from TVD and now that Emory is hurt they may be doing it again.

The other possibility is Mario will have TVD and Jacurri compete this week and just announced TVD as started so Louisville doesn’t game plan as much for Jacurri. Mario loves to think he’s tricking people and being sneaky. That’s about his only strategy

I get starting TVD but you need to at least throw in some Jacurri drives/packages.

Or F it, and just move to Jacurri to TE at this point if he's still that awful at QB

My guess may be that JB is just that bad.

In the last 4 games not one of our QBs have eclipsed the 175 yard mark. They've also have not run for positive yards. So you need to basically replace 175 yards of offense. If Jacurri throws for 100 yards and runs for 75 he's matched their output. If he doesn't turn the ball over he's eclipsed TVD's efficiency.

I am not making this argument but Louisville is #9 in the country and they have a very good defense, especially against the run. If you told me you're starting TVD to get through Louisville and then starting Brown against BC I would be less ****ed. Still ****ed, but less ****ed. I just don't see them doing that.

My opinion: Your season is over, you're in a bowl, TVD is not going to be playing football here next year. Other than trying to get to 8 wins, there is absolutely no reason to start him, unless you know Brown will no longer be here either.

Are the banners flying Saturday? All that is important.

Wario Bum needs to be fired..can see it now - end of the 25 season Wario is fired along with his 4th OC…lol

This just makes me think Jucurri looks bad in practice and hasn’t improved this year.
He must really stink then.
He’s been in the program two years and can’t beat out a guy who has a dozen turnovers in 4 games. How much worse can it get?

The good news is, unlike the last two offseasons, we have stability on the offensive side of the ball and won't have an inevitable month-and-a-half long interview process for a new OC while potentially program-changing transfer QB's are backchanneling to secure their next landing spot.

And since our ability to actually start attracting premier quarterbacks to Miami was so reliant on putting out a great on-field product this year, we can rest assured that Mario no longer has a reputation as a QB killer who trots out prehistoric offenses given how we've looked since the bye.

Oh wait...

At least we can sell that we have an OL and explosive WR commits. But for Mario to ever allow the QB room to get to this point is beyond laughable.
