Tucker a late addition to Miami's class

Glad to see another pickup but this does go to show that we didn't do a very good job recruiting last year. We shouldn't have to be giving on scholarships in June. I am glad 2014 is looking much better so far. Track gets 13 scollies for boys and they are easier to lose than football so it makes sense for him to want to be part of the football team for not school reasons.

Not so true...let's see who have gotten late...Jimmie Jones, Larry Jones and I'm pretty sure Ray Lewis.

I think all who were hanging around June with no offers. Yes, Ray Lewis.

Kid has speed, size and strong props from Cane 1st round draft pick off last NC team. Nuff said!

Rohan Marley was 5'8" and right at 200 pounds. He was an amazing LB in the early to mid 90' when we were actually good.

I like this pickup. It's one thing to take a post-NLOI flyer on a marginal kid, it's another thing to take a flyer on a kid who has elite track speed and happens to be a pretty good football player.

What to like: Kid has elite track speed (fastest hurdler in the state - a great time), has a solid frame (5-11, 200+), comes recommended by a respected alumni coach, underused in HS

What not to like: not much of a resume

All in all, it's a solid signing imo

At the very worst - he'll be a track guy only OR be a STs contributor.
At the very best - solid backup RB who can get 5-10 carries per game

Need those types of kids on your roster. Not every kid can be a Sony.

here we go w/ the "marley was a great lb here" comments. i love his attitude and fight as much as anyone. but, he freelanced and went for the big shot everytime. he really never started here. to say he was "amazing" is a big stretch. if he was that good, he'd have stayed and finished out his career. i know he didn't and doesn't need the money. but, he was average. had a huge heart, flew around, would fight anyone on the team, was a badass, but, wasn't an "amazing" lb here.

Internet tough guy. Marley lead the team in tackles his sophomore year. Not bad for a guy who was never a starter.

I loved Rohan, especially after the interview he did explaining his love for the U last year on caneinsider.com i think it was. ("Ya caynt brake me, Ya wunt brake me!" Classic.) And he would be on my all time top 10 of guys who got us the rep we had back in that day of being pure badasses. Who can forget his press conference before the 92' ship game against ALA when he said we were gonna "kick there a$$e$". (Didnt turn out how we expected of course) BUT..

Rohan had the Bermunda Triangle having his back early in his career. They blanketed all his faults. When they left he was outmatched and outmanned. All the heart in the world coudlnt help him. Call it what you want but he left cuz he knew he had no future in the NFL. Still love the guy though and he will always be a true cane.

You can't compare recruiting now to the 80's and 90's. A lot more film is out there now with the internet so the odds of finding a kid not rated correctly are pretty slim. The tri county area is probably the most watched area in the country so kids that are good are being recruiting in south florida. How does he compare to Chessnut or Woodley at RB and what about Skai Moore at LB? Woodley and Moore would have loved to come here. Since some say he will redshirt his freshman year then why not hold the scollie for Quincy Wilson?

Here is the 110m hurdles. Tucker is faster than burnes

Burns ran a 13.35 his junior year which was 2nd in the country. This year he ran a 13.98.

Sooo is this kid a LB or a RB?

This kid is a running back all day, he will not add the 40lbs needed to be an effective LB because it will hurt his Track Speed and remember this kid is thinking about the olympics also. Now as a 210 lb RB he can still run track, not to mention he was the 3rd best runnng back in broward county for 2012 according to some. Tucker shared carries so his stats where okay 36 attempts for 343yds and 4td's, allowing him to avg 9.5 yds per carry which is outstanding.

He will be insurance if Dillard can't tote the rock this fall and if OT is not back to his pre-injury form.

Go Canes

What about Corn Elder at RB and Augustus Edwards?

We did offer Skai Moore, just late in the game.

Why give it to Quincy Wilson, maybe the staff does not like him?
