It seems unlikely to me that any of the young guys on defense will be able to shirt, other than maybe Martin. We're obviously so thin at LB, and relying on these young guys to play a bunch of snaps, that we likely will have to reduce their roles on special teams. I'd think that we may see guys like James and Wright play more special teams as the season goes along, especially on coverage units, in the place of where some of our LBs may have played before.

I believe Cedric Wright and Jeff James played last night. Personally I wanted Jeff James to red-shirt, but it's understandable to why he played given lack of depth in the secondary. Also, Bruce red-shirting is likely not going to happen. And besides, with a talent like him, you really think he's going to be staying in school as a red-shirt senior?
