2026 Tristen "TK5" Keys 5* WR from Hattiesburg, MS commits to LSU

I think if we want to take the next step in this day and age, it’s putting money where your mouth is. That’s not to say we’re not spending money, because in certain areas, we absolutely are.

I like to use ND and Seider as an example. For years, Seider was always brought up on this board as a home run hire. rumored to leave Happy Valley at times. Six years went by, and he kept recruiting like a savage up there. ND went above and beyond, and paid up big time for him. They will see the rewards.

I very much think we could’ve poached Hartline from OSU, if the right price was thrown around. Easy for me to say because it’s not my money, but the impact he would have had on recruiting would’ve been tremendous. Obviously, that ship has sailed.

He’s far from the only candidate I’d envision to be a slam dunk. Some others off the top of my head could’ve been Derrick Nix, JaMarcus Sheppard (he won’t leave DeBoer imo, but certainly worth a bag drop and an inquiry), Jacob Peeler, Malcolm Kelly, Dennis Simmons, etc.

We shall revisit if need be at the end of the year, but the one thing I’d like to see Mario and the program do going forward is poach, not reach. Heatherman was a poach. Still love that hire. More of those por favor.

I think our receivers have on the whole outperformed their talent level, but I just remember thinking the analogy he apparently gave Jacurri about being pregnant was one of the weirdest ******* things I’ve ever heard. Know nothing about the guy, but if it’s real I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Jeff Scott is a goofball, but he had some good WR at Clemson, Clemson fell off at WR when he went to USF, then they landed 2 good ones in Moore and Wesco when he came back.

It’s not just this cycle, it’s how people perceive him overall. Weird cat allegedly. No ill will towards the guy, and I think he’s fine at what he does, but we need an alpha WR coach eventually. He’s not elite.

Hopefully he turns it around and our WRs ball out on the field this year. The latter not coming to fruition would certainly be the nail in the coffin for him at Miami, no matter who he pulls in.

Anyways, this is a Keys thread and not a bash Beard thread. Hopefully we keep the foot on the gas here and get off to a hot start on the field.

"Weird cat allegedly"..... So there's rumors of him being weird but yet no one can explain what makes him weird? And y'all, as adults just believe without any explanation or proof? Lol leave it to this board to always find at least one "weird" guy on the staff smh.

Now if I ever called someone weird, it's for actual reasons that I believe. For example, Paul Williams was weird to me because he was a full blown adult male who wore colored contacts. I would love to know what makes KB weird other than him not be able to pull 5 star WRs which we have had a problem with since FOREVER.

That honestly doesn’t seem that weird of an analogy to me tbh. It’s more like if you want to y see stand the point being made you will

We clearly are a top 10 recruiting school, we can reach top 5 and have. We need to start sending people to the pros in positions we are not doing as well. Highly ranked DT and WR specifically, u either can't get them in the portal or they are mad expensive and know where they are going before they enter. Producing high draft picks is how we change the dynamics here. Kids ar getting paid regardless but they also want to go pro. U can't argue with LSU at WR and UGA at DT.

Notice we have no problem getting TEs, we can bring in 4 in one class if we choose to. Highly ranked ones. We need to get it done on the field. Also, not sure why people saying we have no WRs when we just had 2 commit last week. Quit being hyperbolic. We simply need to produce on the field with the talent we did get.

Oh I love him too. I usually agree with his takes, but I don’t get the love for JRoc. He’s fine - but he’s hardly a can’t miss prospect in my opinion.

Great post & I agree if we’re gonna cut ties with a great teacher in Beard it absolutely has to be someone who can convince the 5stars of the world to come here with a proven track record of getting guys to the next level cause Miami itself is void of that selling point in these kids lifetime.

This is what all the “5 stars are allerigic” bros don’t realize lol ..bruh duhhh what 5 star reciever is gonna pick Miami over Ohio State or Alabama / Or LSU etc. who tf can we point to & say if you come here you can be next “Stacey Coley” ? Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne were b4 these jits time …. I guarantee we’ll start landing more if we put kids Like JOJO and Toney into the league in the top rounds
