Trevon Hill

Great news re Mr. Hill, if true. Baller & a great fit for our D. All we need now is a stout upperclassman or two at DT, a couple of highly talented OL and for Martell to get his waiver.

Manny has made some great personnel moves so far. Let's keep it up. Go Canes!

His agility is very impressive. He redirects quickly and moves in space like an LB. He would help a lot in the option game and open up the playbook in a lot of ways. Multiple fronts, zone pressures, stunts/games, slants are all in his wheelhouse.

His go-to move is the outside rip. His burst is good enough and when you factor in his ability to bend laterally and around the corner it's a very solid move. His counter is the inside spin but it looks like it's a work in progress. He times the snap well and he's very active with his hands. Gotta give VT credit for their player development on defense.

I think he's a better pass rusher than 99 but he's just a different player in general. 99 was powerful, fast in pursuit and he could anchor. I don't think Hill can play through blocks. He likes to play off blocks and avoid stalemates. I think he can be more of a disruptor than 99 who was a great cleanup guy. We need backfield penetrators to help replace Willis.

If Hill comes then he’s a specialist BUT that’s absolutely ok. Scott is pretty good vs. the run and we could also use Jason Blissett on some downs there until he puts more weight on because he’s athletic enough.

When I watch his tape, I think he could be used similarly to how we moved Trent Harris around. He'd make a significant difference for next year's defense. A quartet of Garvin, Rousseau, Hill and Patchan gives us breathing room. We'd still need the grad transfer DT, but that's another thread.

dare i say, we getting...........

Good break down.

What we aren't talking bout is his intensity. He has old Ed Reed A Blades Warren Sapp "I won't take defeat lightly." That's why he was dismissed. If he is brought in and given ground rules. He could be the one Manny is looking for to change attitudes

Has an elite first step. Ala Dwight Freeney. How big is he?

Fingers crossed this is legit, him and the UCLA DT would be enormous for next years defense.

It's just hard for me to put too much credibility into Mr. Kevin Olsen's mugshot. Even if he has hit before. Maybe he's got a plug in the program. Here's to hoping.

I don't utter the slang words as much as kids do these days but I will in this case.
This guy is a savage.

I don’t care if it’s legit or not. The kid has been begging to get here. It’s virtually on Manny if he wants him and it would be head scratching if he didn’t considering we just took a PWO at QB even though we have 4 QBs in the room already..So he clearly is looking to stock the shelves at every position. Hill does that in a major way.

I’m not ready to just hand the keys to Rousseau off preseason hype from last year and Patchan has the goods but can he be trusted to start?
