Treon Harris

I'll stick to my prediction I made a couple weeks ago about UF

You can't out a source obviously but where are you hearing this from? You're not the first I've heard that from and I just don't see it.

I think he is predicting from his gut. I personally don't see uf. I see him here or auburn. Miami convinced him he would get a chance here. That's all he wants and we are in his blood. Auburn might run a better scheme for him but it's a really bad school academically if that matters at all and it's not close to home.

I doubt fsu. He clearly doesn't like something about his recruiting there

Auburn a bad school academically? Where do you guys come up with this ****?

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't have the motivation to look at their US News and World Report rankings. I know that they have a very good engineering school at the very least.

They are 91st or something tied with fsu. Worse than Alabama. The only schools that are pretty good in the sec are vandy uf and Georgia

Not predicting from my gut. The minute I hear something different than UF I will post it. I did hear UM was very much in the race but I still believe he goes to UF.

Ok I stand corrected. I didn't realize you were going off something. Either way I have the feeling we are in it.

First of all, 99 % of the kids could actually gives 2 chits about education. It's a canned response taught to them by their parents and society. Most will get some type of liberal arts or business degree or something even simpler. ALL the major universities work fine in this capacity... Very few are Rhodes Scholars or valedictorians... or truly have the capacity to become a medical doctor, attorney, whatever. BTW - most of the majors offer all those curriculums as well. Auburn is primarily known for its Engineering program and Veterinary college. Stop with the BS statements... Unless you know for a fact that the kid truly has a specialized curriculum he is seeking, like C. Thomas!

This dude's all Cane. We've been running a spread for years. All we have to add is the QB read element.

You basically have to NOT be retarded to get into Auburn. And that's if you aren't even an athlete

Naw maybe back in the day. But for a non-athlete, Auburn now has above average standards for incoming students. I'm a recent Alumn...BUT still was and is a die hard Cane fan lol

probably hold true for all state schools these days. the number kids going to college these days coupled with the high cost of education has made even the lower tier state schools harder to get in to.

I apologize man, but in comparison to the other big schools in the southeast (I grew up in GA), literally anyone with $ could get accepted to Auburn. It's not a terrible school, but I'd have a difficult time believing they are "above average".

Let's be honest, it's a frat school. You go there to party and network (not saying that's a bad thing, either)

Thats the same thing I was thinking. He worked under Randy Shannon.

Why can't Ice be hired? Seriously? Someone tell me why not, and with a good reason?

No college degree. No job.

Didn't stop Handy Randy from hiring him...

I'm pretty sure Randy hired him, then realized he didn't have a degree and therefore couldn't qualify to be a coach, so they made him a community liaison.

He wasn't allowed to coach or recruit, as that responsibility is reserved for.......,coaches.

Your coaches are supposed to be leaders and educators.
How can a coach impress upon a player the importance of his academic responsibilities if he failed in that endeavor?

"Why should I go to class coach, you never did?"

U can just check the records of kids at BTW since he's been coach.....its the reason i respected him evern BEFORE btw were winning state games,e tc.......dude doesnt even let kids play unless there getting a 2.5...he's a disciplinarian as far as school, class attendance..His own kids were academic scholars @ um.

Stop spouting off about ish u dont know,.....

BTW is located in THE WORST area in the city of miami...yet almost allll of their football prospects qualify year in year out...thats a feat....and even the herald wrote an article about it a few years back......ever since then i had respect for Ice.

wish more coaches would hold the kids academically accountable..

Look at Trayone, he has the athletic capabilities of transforming his families future completely.... but, his coach didn't keep him accountable.

worst his coach is/.was a college coach...but he did TRY i guess to keep him accountable as Gray was suspended a game or two if i can recall during the season this yr for cc. But just letting him get to that point is bad imo.

Like stated BTW has REAL goons on their school grounds....yet..their kids routinely qualify with EASE....2.5 or u aint playing for Ice. Yet theirs kids like isiah mckenzie @ one if not the best private school in broward...and risk of not qualifying

Okay maybe I have a different outlook because I graduated from the school of Engineering and it has a pretty well known reputation, but no hard feelings here...We both have Cane fandom in common lol

I went to BTW back when it was an elementary school in the late 70's. I'm assuming it is the same school. Moved from Toronto to Palm Island and, for some reason that is where I and my 2 brothers were told to go to school.
I know it's a tough area. It's a lot tougher area if you had to walk there from Palm Island as one of only 3 Japanese/Canadian kids in the school.

The question is why Harris can't be a coach at Miami and the answer is that he's not qualified.
Is he even a teacher at BTW? Without a degree I hear it's tough to get a teaching certificate anywhere in America.
You think he's the reason kids qualify out of BTW?
Sell that somewhere else.
The vast majority of recruits qualify all across the country and the reason for that is that the qualifications are not that difficult.
You have to be an average student to qualify with a below average test score.
The ones who don't qualify are the exception, and the reason is because of a lack of average effort or a lack of average innate intelligence.
The NCAA is not asking for superior academic achievement.
They just won't allow the bottom of the barrel to take advantage of the system.

If you are going to laud anyone for BTW's success at getting athletes qualified for athletic scholarships look to the teachers who are doing an outstanding job.
