That’s perfectly fine - just win. If you look at recent elite teams like Ohio State, Bama & UGA, played great defense, dominant run games & eventually developed passing game.Great interview.
But be warned CIS, you may not all like what Mirabal has to say BECAUSE he offers great praise to Jim Harbaugh, Sherrone Moore and the style of play at the University of Michigan. Specifically, that sometimes forget RPO and just run to run. And using 2,3 and even 4 TE’s to just overpower teams. Mirabal literally said he wants UM to be held in the same light as U of M.
Yes friends, as I told many of you 2-3 years ago, Mario wants us to play like Michigan. I know that is distasteful to those of you who prefer to pass the ball 35-45 times per game, but don’t expect to see much of that now that Mario has his roster the way he wants it. Cam Ward and the 2024 team, was the anomaly, not the rule.
But expect UM to win a lot more games than we lose, because in college football this style (with the right personnel), does equate to winning.
Mirabal also said if we have to throw the ball 62 times, so be it. Also, he said if we win 10-7 that’s fine. Obviously, he and Mario want to be physical and tough but their main focus is wining at all costs.Great interview.

There is no question that style wins a lot of games. You pummel inferior teams and beat good teams. I'm open minded on this but my question is does that style beat exceptional teams? How do you develop the passing attack sufficiently to be efiicient when you need it? And you will at some point.Great interview.

I think in the long run we need to be more Bama than Michigan. Pummel the inferior teams, but have the WR’s and QB’s to be able to go over the top and win 1 on 1 on the outside when teams are over committed to the run. We aren’t quite there yet IMO. We need 1-2 more recruiting cycles of exceptional WR’s to reach that level. There is no question that style wins a lot of games. You pummel inferior teams and beat good teams. Getting the best or second best QB in the transfer portal helps, which we have done the last two years and will probably try to do again this coming off-season. Our passing offense will get more explosive (and better) once we have an elite WR room again. And, we'll still be able to run the ball down the other team's throat whenever we want to, while most college teams cannot. There is no question that style wins a lot of games. Have to believe that’s the ultimate goal. Bama could pound you & then have 1st rounders running thru the secondary.I think in the long run we need to be more Bama than Michigan. I would argue that 2 years from now, assuming we have the correct QB, we will be at the Bama level. The WR recruiting seems to be on a great trajectory. But I think we are already really close to the Michigan level from 2023.
Great interview.

Agree but with a caveat- we ran the same way last year with Ward and scored a million points.Great interview.

Mirrorbal is a great person. Born to teach.
I agree that the Bama formula is the plan. I just don’t think we have the experienced WR’s to do it; yet.Agree but with a caveat- we ran the same way last year with Ward and scored a million points.
To me, the best comparison is Alabama under Saban. They won with the running game and defense for years. They added an explosive component with Tua and four first-round wide receivers that took them to a new level. But they never stopped running with physicality.
I think we want to be like our 2024 offense or the Tua Alabama teams that could do both. But if we only have one, give me the power running game that wins championships over the Big 12-style passing attack.
I agree that the Bama formula is the plan.
Hmmmm that may true in “some” respects but Miami has a totally different culture and recruiting landscape…Great interview.

It absolutely beats exceptional teams. Bama has 6 nattys under El Sabano to show for it.There is no question that style wins a lot of games. You pummel inferior teams and beat good teams.
