Trap Game=@Virginia

First real away game for Perry. I'd like to see them get him on track early with easy throws to get the jitters out. UVA will stack the line to take away the run, so I think it will be hard to run early, especially if the OL is blocking like they did against FSU.

I think the team will wake up after this close call.

Their Defense won't be able to stop all of our play makers.
Their offense is basic and their QB is not that good.

31-17 Miami.

I never feel comfortable before playing UVA. On paper this is a should-win by 10-14 points, but these ACC games are always weird.

You guys aren't going to like it, but I have a feeling that, far from "opening up the playbook for Perry," Richt is going to call an even more-restrained game for Perry's first big road start. I hope this at least includes some tempo and easy short passes to our athletes, but I really feel that we are going to err on the side of minimizing potential mistakes from Perry, lean on our defense a bit, and grind out a workmanlike win.

One other thing, I don't know if anyone has mentioned the post-FSU effect. Historically, losing to FSU often means the team has a hangover and drops the next game too. Fortunately, the opposite tends to hold true as well - beating FSU tends to give the team a confidence that carries it through the next few games. I can't see having won that game like that, and then coming out vs UVA the next weekend and laying an egg. It would be uncharacteristic.

I think we should take a page out of the NC State play book.
They were running up and down the field on Virginia using a lot of max protection sets, the Pistol with a full back formation. and other multiple TE/FB/HB sets.

On Defense they were geting good pressure on Virginia's Defense and our DL is much better than theirs. Willis and company should eat.

Actually glad this game is at night. We get up for night games. Noon games are when we seem to come out flat. Virginia’s QB from last year is gone and this offense is one of the key reasons we developed the striker role for this defense. They picked on McCloud or whichever outside backer was out there last year, strictly played the matchups.

They like exploiting the LB’s with the RB’s and slot receivers. This time around they’ll be dealing with Finley. I think we handle business and beat them by two scores if not more.

So do we put a spy on Perkins?? I honestly can't remember us ever having to do this when facing a true dual-threat QB.

Miami had the most momentum I have seen from this program in a long time after beating ND last season and then proceeded to get down by 14 points at home against UVA.

All offseason, everyone had circled BC to be a trap game. Players already expect it. In my opinion, Virginia is a much bigger trap game. They will give us fits. In fact, we are favored only -6.5. This will be a stressful night to say the least.

Nice jinx, *******!

When you suck and are up and down like a yo-yo every game is a trap game. Rick can’t get his teams to perform at a steady level from week to week.

Yes this is why I said Mork was good for one of these a season. I had a feeling this was going to be the one. NO one was expecting this which had all the signs of him pulling a Richt.

His laid back attitude with little intensity will get you beat against teams you should clobber. The team/coach gets comfortable in those situations and this was a perfect time for them to get comfortable against a weak UVA team.
