Because 1 is in the portal and 1 isn't.

As for as im concerned we have few LBs on our team that so far they could be decent rotational players. Thats Keontra and Steed, Chase has potential. That means everyone of them can be upgraded and moved to 2nd team. Also remember you don't just need 2 or 3 dependable guys you need 6 or 7 who are ready to play at a high level. How many do we have now? Who knows what they are doing and are not athletically overmatched?

I think it’s safe to say Miami knows whether or not Jones is portaling (is that even a word?). I’d personally take both and load up that room for 2022. Who plays Mike can be figured out later.
 
Why are we high on Caleb Johnson? I feel like he’s going to transfer here and then other transfer LBs who are better might not want want to do the same. I just think the upside is a little limited there.

He had a big time 2020 season in 7 games he put up 44 tackles 5.5 sacks and a good amount of TFL’s. I saw somewhere he had one of the better pass coverage grades for Lb last year. Last years production is a red flag but the coaches are hoping he’ll be back to 2020 form. He’s not an Elite guy but he’s an average to slightly above average lb.

That may not seem like a big deal but if we can go from bad to average that could be the difference in winning and losing to random coastal teams. He’s a floor raiser not a game breaker and that’s okay.

Average lb’s don’t make second team all conference in a power five conference. Anyone not thrilled with this addition is crazy. It’s quality player at a position that needs depth / talent.

I said average to slightly above average lol he had 0 tfl’s last year so I’ll spin this back on you. Good to great LB’s don’t go full seasons with 0 TFL’s. I stand by what I said. He’s a floor raiser and I’m happy to have him but there are levels to everything

Yeah not sure how 2nd team all conference in pac 12 translates to jag. We have coaches that played against him and evaluated film etc. Our fanbase is strange
