I was referring to that era of players, not specifically the era of Golden. Unless someone started watching Miami during that era, those players do not jump to mind when talking about great players at UM.

Obviously, the Golden era itself was a disappointment, at best. But if you want to find the silver lining of when Golden was here. Had it not been such a circus, especially with that 6 and 7 season in 2014, which resulted in the university being called out in the national media, I am not sure you have this era now. That 2014 season led to the Richt hire and all the facility upgrades and actual investment into the football program.

So no, Golden sucked, but looking back, I appreciate these teams even more now because of that time.

Im pretty certain the 58-0 beat down by Clemson in the 2015 season led to the Richt hire. Just delete your entire post.
 
Was a great interview, that NFL fine is NO ******* JOKE.. Especially if you arent a top player.. Have seen guys who are 3rd round picks or after who are backups get put in game in a blowout and in 5 snaps get a fine and that is basically 2 of their game checks, insanity.. Imagine playing only special teams and you barely get in game and you lose 2 game checks for a fine.. wild
 
If I remember correctly, when Golden was hired, the other finalists at that time where Randy Edsall and Marc Trestman. I kinda shudder just thinking about that. We hired Golden and then the whole Nevin thing dropped. I really felt like that was gonna be the end of CANES football as I knew it. But, here we are. As Ike Turner would say, "Back and bold as ****!"

Side note......as bad as we were during that era, we never reached the point of where FSU is now. We'd still win 6-8 games and get kids to the pros..

We were stuck in a state of perpetual mediocrity and underachievement, but we rarely, if ever, were as bad as FSU is right now.

What was the highlight of Golden's career besides him getting fired? The Osu win in 2011, Florida in 2013, starting 9-0 in 2013 and getting bent over after the Wake game by FSU, Duke, Va Tech, and Louisville. Obviously it's always nice to beat rivals like Osu and Florida but those two teams ******* sucked.
