Tough and Physical

Who could disagree?

The one weakness: WR speed. I could see some elite DBs containing us simply because we can’t blow the doors off them. Now maybe Marian can land a few and change my mind.

The other concern would be quality depth. Lowe could have played a role by the cfp. 16 games is a ton of football. We need to get serious about blowing teams out to save starters reps and getting back ups more.

Wasn’t Notre Dame considered the most elite secondary we will face this year though?

I worry about the explosiveness of our offense holding us back. We don’t scheme up anything creative in the run game to get the defense out of position and we don’t have blazing speed to run past people. So don’t surprised when we continued to play like the ND game, lean on people, stay ahead of the sticks and be efficient.

I'd like to add that this team has a very serious, professional tone as well. I've been to a lot of Miami games throughout the years, and this team appears to take every game like pros - no "swaying" before kickoffs, no sideline dancing, no chains/jewelry, no goofing off between series. Just a bunch of "grown kids" acting like they've been there before and have one thing in mind.

Lyle had two 60plus runs. Pringle has our longest of the season and could have gone 90. I think the speed at WR is why RBs are not breaking longer runs. Safeties aren’t threatened by us so they can stop most long runs. That said, I could see a RB break a S tackle and take it to the house any game. Brown is the only one that may not have elite speed.
