My goodness will the negativity ever stop??? A lot of these kids say Miami recruits them good, but they just want to get away for school....and we lost a lot of guys cause of negative recruiting the last few years and its been a knwn fact...if we dnt get Gibson, its ok...he needs to develop alittle bit anyway and it would suck jot to get him hut we just Stole the best QB in the State of California last year in Kaaya...we makin posit steps guys...we can't and we won't get everyone...but now with ICE Harris on staff we will do a whole lot better.....

Man this went south real quick lets allow the kid to commit and go from there
Geezzz this is the year al has to actually prove himself no restrictions

They say we recruit them hard. That's not the same as recruiting well. If we were recruiting well, we could convince them that they don't want to get away for school.

i do it EVERY YEar...I LITERALLY DIDNT WATCH ANY film on Johnnie Dixon last yr as i knew in the spring that kid wasnt coming here...paid no attention...didnt feel any kind of way when he committed to osu....

I am doing thi snow with Gibson...and thats with my younger cousin being teammates and friends with him
 
People on here are ridiculous. If you understand recruiting, then you know that athletes are getting "extras". The SEC, FSU, Clemson and OSU are teams that have been coming in and getting players from South Fla. With all the issues with the NCAA Miami is out of that game. Players looking to make quick money will leave. Don't blame Golden for that, he's done a good job considering what he's going against.
 
We have a couple good qbs now so I am not in panic over losing Gibson as far as QBs go, but he would be huge boost to recruiting if he commits early and that matters. FSU used Harris last year to help SOFL recruiting and then dumped the kid--most of this board thought he would never play qb in Tally. Staff does need to learn that some guy are must gets just because of who comes with them. Cut them later if you have to.

So only players we get weren't paid.

But all players lost, they were paid.

This has legs, guys.

I've been on the same page as WhatTheHell here from the jump. Losing Treon didn't really matter to me....or whatever you want to classify it as.

Losing this kid would ******* suck. He's going to be a stud. Don't care what his NFL ceiling is or anything like that, the kid is going to whoop *** in college. Lot of awful, miserable, sad *** excuses flying around trying to soften this blow if he bolts but there is no excuse. Some guys just don't want to play here. We are supposed to change minds and this one is a big prize.

Can't lose.
 
Gibson is an insanely talented kid, but I'm not much concerned whether he comes here or not. I can see a lot of hot/cold moments, maybe even a coach-killer type career where he's making Sportscenter's Top 10 frequently but also maddeningly inconsistent. While Coley may tout a dynamic system, I just don't see the perfect fit here.

Yup.

Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, Mike Vick, Vince Youg.

Gibson will have that kind of impact on our program. Losing him will haunt us.
