Yeah he's not a QB at an D1 program. I'd wet myself over him as a WR though. Big, fast and got some shake
 
I remember someone saying if he's a WR he might be best WR in Florida right now with his athletic ability

Gibson could definitely be a qb at the d1 level. It would just take him so time to get going. He's an ATH playing qb right now but he has good raw tools. At a bcs program he is not a qb. However, he still has a lot of football left, and a lot of time to improve his current tools. He also looks to run and not trust his instincts in the pocket too much.

At WR he's a 5* kid. Same talent level at WR as George Campbell and SBB. Crazy thing about those 3 kids is that they are also 5* recruits if they all decided to play Safety.

How great is this athleticism in general? I hear this all the time, take this QB bring him in and make him a DB or Slot WR because his athleticism is off the charts.

IMO, It doesn't work like this really anymore unless you explain this to them and they understand. Even then some kids don't want to hear about possibly changing positions. Look at Treon Harris, he is being an offered by FSU at QB. Not many teams (maybe just other small schools) want to offer him at QB because they don't want to deal with the headache.

I understand that there have been QBs who moved to other positions because they tend to be the most athletic player on a HS team but when they are stuck on playing QB you better make sure they understand if you intend to move them.

I'm not insinuating that the coaching staff is going to mislead the young man and recruit him only to change his position once he signs. If anything, this is the last coaching staff to pull such a stunt. But didn't this kid run a 49.00 400M dash?? This isn't your run-of-the-mill athlete, this kid is an absolute freak. I'm inclined to think he, his family and coach will be open to him to his versatility and playing other positions as his recruitment continues.
 
Gibson has a good arm and can throw a nice ball, but he's not a quick thinker. At least not yet.

If you put Treon Harris's brain in his body, you'd have a big-time quarterback prospect.
 
gotta love coleys qb instincts. Winston seems to be turning out quite well for himself. FSU has had a running/dual threat qb for a long time (im including ponder in that although he doesn't so much at the next level)

people keep acting like Winston was a "FIND"....DUDE WAS ARGUABLY THE TOP QB RECRUIT IN HIS CLASS.......got**** everybody an their mama offered the kid...even Barry University and they dfont even have a program

Dameyune Craig and Jimbo "found" Winston. Winston wouldn't even be at fsu if it weren't for craig
 
I Found Winston. Thats not a find. Its not hard to see some kid whose 6'5 running 4.5 and is built like a tank throwing lasers.

Its a shame to have so many of these kinds of guys in recent years. If we can't bring in Winky or Treon at DB, it will be tough to watch 2 athletes of that calibur leave the city. Gibson will get wise, just show him some old Sean Taylor footage and tell him that he's next.

IMO Gibson would be a beast at GTECH. in that offense.

I don't like him as a QB at a top D1 school such as UM. Great Athlete, average passer in High School let alone big time college football.
