Topps and Fanatics partner with Miami for first EVER NIL trading card program

That’s gonna be really blah if that’s the case.

I don’t understand why the school would announce it if the school logo can’t even be used.

The NIL cards will look something along the lines of this. Where the cards in my image will most likely cease to have autos and patches.

Been over 50 years ago I started a collection. From what I can remember, we could buy a cardboard storage box. It was the height and width of a card and about 6 inches long. Held about 100 cards?
The good ole days. I started off with the box and as I got older transitioned to the binder. Back in my day it was Topps, Donruss, and Fleer. Also, I’ll never forget when the Sports Flicks cards came out. Thought that was going to be the future. This post brings back some great childhood memories.

Was really into it as a kid, walked away once I hit high school, and came back in 4 years ago, mostly because I could afford the higher end stuff that I sure as **** couldn't afford as a kid. Once it started taking off again, I got back out, because it became a sucker bet to spend thousands on cases, cases that rarely delivered anything of value. I do scout for singles that I want, to add to the collection. The stuff pictured is just the stuff hanging out in my home office. I'm too lazy to go digging through the boxes and binders for my old stuff...

Was thinking the same thing

All of this is supposed to be NIL. All of this, & I have no problems w/ this type of NIL. If a kid starts a social media page that creates a following w/ advertisement, that’s all a go. If kids r making $$ off of endorsements, NFTs, autographs, etc etc, that’s a go. My issue w/ NIL has & will always be how it’s constructed now, where coaches r openly telling boosters pay for this guy to come here. That puts a lot of schools at a disadvantage. Texas 8&4 doesn’t get the #1 class w/o this bastardized NIL construction. They have enough data to show they don’t win on the field to garnish a historic class.

I can tell you guys haven’t collected in a while. Everything posted in here combined isn’t worth 20$ lol
My Reggie Jackson transcendent auto is worth 50 without trying and Reggie autos are extremely easy to come by. That said, if you are investing in stuff, you need to either put money into prospecting, or you need to go high end hall of famers(Or guys that are likely HOFers like Mike Trout) I'm more a "Put money into stuff I like, because I don't view the collection as an investment" type.
