Top Ten nationally in passer rating (P5)

Gotta admit, after our first 5 games I though JW didn’t have “it” and truthfully (for many reasons that have already been mentioned) he didn’t. But he fought thru adversity (3 picks, benched for Kosi, etc...) kept grinding and kept learning (Enos kept teaching, gotta give him credit too) and he is putting things together. I like where he’s headed!!!

Still needs to keep growing (TD pass to Wiggins was behind him, threw it behind Irvin on a key third down out that was open, etc...), but man has he made leaps and bounds.

The TD throw to JT4 against the Noles, the throw to Harley against the noles on the sideline, the TD deep post to Harley against the ville (he threw him open, perfect pass), holding on to the ball for another second to let Dallas get open on the screen against Ville, the run for a first down against the Ville...all of these and more were throws he wasn’t making earlier in the year, but is now!!!

I’m so proud of this young man. Hoping and praying he keeps working his tail off and growing. If he does, man do we have a special one on our hands!!!

Let’s Go Canes!

5, 7 & 8 were all Metro Atlanta high school studs 2 years ago.
Yes sir. What a year for quarterbacks when Williams is the 3rd best qb, and numbers 1 and 2 will be top ten picks in the draft (and likely top 5).

He now looks even better by being more assertive to take off running. There was a play yesterday - I believe 3rd and 4 or 5 - that really showed his growth as a QB.
Yes, I noticed he was more decisive and took off running when needed

1. Jalen Hurts (OU)
2. Tua Tagovaiola (Alabama)
3. Joe Burrow (LSU)
4. Tanner Morgan (Minnesota)
5. Justin Fields (OSU)
6. Tyler Huntley (Utah)
7. Trevor Lawrence (Clemson)
8. Jarren Williams (Miami)
9. Justin Herbert (Oregon)
10. Anthony Gordon (Washington St.)

Pretty good company. Enos deserves the heat he has gotten at OC (still 73rd in yards per play) but he is living up to his reputation as a QB coach.
Does every positive require a we suck caveat?

The staff will look back at pulling Jarren vs VT as a huge mistake. Unless he was truly hurt that bad he should have been starting vs GT and Pitt.
He was hurt. Rumor says it’s been since UF game. I kinda believe it now after watching him play. Seems like the zip is back on his throws

To further your point as a QB coach he has had substantial coached impact on 1,2, and 8 out of the that list. So it seems as if he is a QB whisperer

In addition to the injury, Jarren has displayed maturity issues. I like the journey he has taken because he has seen some adversity.
I don’t see how anyone can look at how he played prior to being pulled and since he was reinserted in the Pitt game and not see that he’s a different qb mentally regardless of the injury. Sitting and seeing that win or lose Miami was going to move on without if he didn’t get his **** together is making Jarren the QB peeps have been claiming he could be since he got here.

Put the kid in the pistol or the gun and, with his accuracy, let him slice up any defense. There were a couple plays yesterday where the OL broke down. But, being in the gun or pistol allowed for an extra tick or for Jarren to move off the spot. Actually, I haven't re-watched the game on TV, but I believe the Mallory TD is an example.

The little things.
The Mallory TD he made a nice move to buy a bit more time. If he had waited any longer it would have been a sack.
He got crushed on the first big TD to Wiggins. He just got that pass off.

They never should of played him in that game due to his shoulder . SO no you are incorrect. He threw 3 int due to not having a good shoulder . No the mistake they made was not starting him vs Pitt but he saved the day. He had to miss games like VT and GT due to health.
I'm a big fan of JW15 because of his accuracy. That is a huge plus for a QB.

He was hurt for VT and GT, but they did not start JW for the Pitt game because he missed Wednesday's practice that week, not because they thought he wasn't ready. It was to teach his a_s a lesson. Looks like he learned from it. He is still showing some signs of immaturity, but getting much better.

Jarren Williams completion percentage is 67.0%. Good for 21st in the country. Better than:

Ehlinger
Newman
Mond
McDonald
Eason

Jarren Williams yards per attempt is 8.8 YPA. Good for 14th in the country. Better than:

Howell
Bryant
Herbert
Fromm
Tied with Fields

Jarren Williams rating is 164.83. Good for 9th in the country. Better than:

Everybody in the god**** country except for Fields, Tua, Hurts, Burrow, Lawrence, Morgan, Huntley, and White.

The kid has things he can improve on. He’s not a finished product. He didn’t look ready early in the year. But if you can’t appreciate that this kid is a good player, that he’s improving, that there is serious potential here, and that he’s looking more and more like a legit upper echelon college QB every week, then you’re completely clueless, a hater, or probably both.

BUHT HE JUSTT FROWS DEM SHOTZ PAZZZESSZ

Against very weak competition. When we play any team with a pulse on defense we can’t move the ball.

Like Urban Meyer stayed, a kid has to do it in big games and not against cupcakes

I like what I see so far but these stats are meaningless if we can’t do them against good competition

you can only go by the teams on the schedule
