I was wrong. Jarren is the ****.
For real? Go back do some actually real research and check some stats. The offensive game plan should have been in reverse. We should have put Zion on island this gameThey aren’t “meaningless”, the man can only play who is on the schedule and he has done what he is supposed to do. I expect him to do the same against FIU and Duke as well. Hopefully the bowl game will be a better litmus test but JW is the truth, regardless...and he is just getting started. Very, very, very excited to see what another off season does for him and his development.
Yeah that's the whole point 90 percent of the people miss. With that being said we dont have anywhere near that kind of offense so your point is moot when it pertains to the Canes. When we can score on anybody d than we can talk but please look at the defensive ranking for each team we played and see if we bested there defensive rankings.Alabama has played two ranked teams. They gave up 40 to LSU and 30 to Texas A&M
LSU 38 to Texas, 28 to Florida and 41 to Bama
Oklahoma can't stop anyone.
No one is shutting down good offenses.
So he was definitely hurt coming into VT? Then I agree with you
I mean just from watching him, despite what people want to say or report, he just flat out looked different throwing the ball. Not confused or anything, but it was pretty clear something wasn’t right physically. They never should of played him in that game due to his shoulder . SO no you are incorrect. He threw 3 int due to not having a good shoulder . No the mistake they made was not starting him vs Pitt but he saved the day. He had to miss games like VT and GT due to health.
Maybe that's the best thing that could have happened to Jarren. The staff will look back at pulling Jarren vs VT as a huge mistake. Unless he was truly hurt that bad he should have been starting vs GT and Pitt.
He now looks even better by being more assertive to take off running. There was a play yesterday - I believe 3rd and 4 or 5 - that really showed his growth as a QB.Williams has been really good, man. idk where some of y'all got the idea that he was struggling. He has had like one bad quarter. He's been really good.
All of his metrics add up, too. He's not fools gold.
8.8 yards per attempt isn't great, but its good for 14th in the nation. On par with Justin Fields.
The thing with Williams is his against the blitz v. no pressure. Williams is elite with no pressure. When he sees pressure, he comes back down to earth strong. But, he's cleaned that up and has been avoiding pressure in the past few weeks. He's getting better.
Put the kid in the pistol or the gun and, with his accuracy, let him slice up any defense. There were a couple plays yesterday where the OL broke down. But, being in the gun or pistol allowed for an extra tick or for Jarren to move off the spot. Actually, I haven't re-watched the game on TV, but I believe the Mallory TD is an example.
The little things.
I've noticed in his pressers since the "team meeting" that his attitude is a bit more subdued. He's been asked about that meeting several times and it's obvious by his responses that he was humbled by it.In addition to the injury, Jarren has displayed maturity issues. I like the journey he has taken because he has seen some adversity.
Pass, Run or Throw It Away.
Jarren put it all together yesterday.
Signed,
