Too many issues to count

Did we not have a CHANCE to win ALL those games. We got our doors blown off by Duke MTSU and now fsu
Yes.
We did.
This is not acceptable.
Last year was not acceptable either.
Just replying to your comment that last years team was anywhere close to a 10-win team.

This is what holds this program back the most in my opinion. This team has had low football IQ for a long time. We have dumb penalties, poor tackling, hit the wrong gaps, run the wrong routes. Trying eradicate that takes time that unfortunately at this level of college football isn’t always given (rightfully so, a ton of money involved). Those problems are compounded by meh coaching and a meh roster. Ironically enough both overrated on paper. This off-season we’ll need to see the biggest improvement in all these areas. We need a roster purge, better coaches, and a huge emphasis on football principals.
Yep. I told my son (another disgusted Canes fan) the logo should be changed to a guy missing a tackle. And how do we give up so many big plays? That's not on lack of talent, that's on lack of discipline, lack of coaching, lack of thinking.

I mentioned in camp his teaching style ( using that loosely) wasn’t helping things, on top of players having issues learning the system. Then they get bashed publicly as the worst group on the team. As I said back then “ but who coaches them? They’ve all regressed “. After all his comments and leaks there’s No trust or respect by players.

“ Ego and toxic “ is what I kept hearing when he was hired and nothing has changed my mind.
What point of the game was this? I want to see

Addae + Gattis for sure... Have to imagine Ponce has to be on the chopping block as well at the very least to give a new OC some more influence. Maybe even Kevin Smith and Field.
Ponce is loyal to Mario and actually left a good situation and took a step down to work with Mario. He and him go way back to his FIU days.

There is also a former HC whose name has been brought up that runs an offensive scheme some people would like to see implemented here that also is from the Mario coaching tree.

He is currently unemployed. Would not be surprised to see him, Ponce, and Mario reunited at some point.

I'm sure Gattis is a good coach but I doubt that he can be retained at this point. Just off principle alone. I think his credibility is in the toilet and from what I"m hearing the players don't seem to "like" him. These cannot be understated. Good luck persuading someone to do anything when you lack credibility/expertise and are highly unlikeable.
He’s not a good coach.

Fire Gattis- you still need coaches on the field in practice teaching these kids!
No coach is worse as you never want the kids running the show.
We are 3 weeks away from him cutting the dead weight.

The bigger concern would be WHY did many OCs decline Mario last year that he ended up with Gattis. Can he find a better fit this time?
History doesn't repeat itself but it sure does rhyme: Shannon=Nix, Golden=D'no, Richt=Jr, Manny=Enos, Mario=Gattis.
Of all the prior coaches, Mario has a few big things in his favor. 1. HE isn't an introvert like Shannon with a limited coaching circle. 2. HE will address coaching issues unlike Golden. 3. HE doesn't have health issues like Richt and is younger. 4. HE won't let the kids run the show like Manny. 5. HE can recruit better than all of them combined and has Ruiz to help.
We hired a guy who was a WR coach at a smaller school last year as an Analyst that can take over. Also have Cooney to work with receivers. It’s not a reason to keep Gattis on.

I don’t think he’s a good coach. Definitely not a good OC. No feel for the game, terrible scheme

only had to read about 5 pages....lotta slurping still going on tbh
the entire staff needs to be overhauled. I said this before and got roasted in here for it.
bring in new, young, hungry coordinators on BOTH sides that have proven it somewhere...they will bring in their staff.
everyone is expendable at this point. some of ya'll still can't see the forest for the trees.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for him, he still got a pay raise coming to UM.

Mario seems fine with Gattis offense… He just wants to blame the players. That’s an issue and falls on him. As far as Steele, his *** probably retires anyway. Other coaches not earning their pay - Not sure any of them are doing a good job. Until Mario gives full control to his OC and DC, nobody worth a **** will want to come here.

Culture is obviously an issue and it will take time to fix. I seen numerous kids last night dapping(is that what the kids say these days?) up FSU players after getting ran through and getting bombs thrown over their head. What the **** kind of **** is that? You think guys like Nate Webster, Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis, or even some recent players like Jamal Carter are dapping up FSU players after they have a big play? Alot of these current kids have no pride at all for this school. No backbone at all. Just out there getting *****ed by any opposing team. Soft *** team

He may have but if not to work with Mario and Mirabal, and return to his hood I doubt that alone would be enough. But he may not really be the problem. His body of work at App St. says different.

It doesn't matter how much they care when you're running a bad scheme. What do you think Steph Curry would look like playing in the post area?
Of course the scheme(s) stink and the talent is sub-par but Steph Curry wouldn’t quit after the third play in a game because he got a tough call. That’s impossible to overcome.
