Too many issues to count

Is it safe to say Mario is aware of who these coaches are and will get rid of them?
If you listen to Mario maybe its just coach speech and he has to say it now. But he seems to say the staff is not the problem. In fact he says the opposite that these guys came here and under (Mario's blue print) will get the job done. We will only know after the last game. It seems impossible not to make changes so lets see what happens.

Mario's an idiot. We once again hired a coach no other legitimate program in the country would touch. His case being attributed to the money necessary to bring him to your program.

But he's a Miami guy and in the end it's not about wins or losses for Miami, it's about the bros we made along the way.

I‘m not coming in here and wasting my time and yours posting the same ole drivel about breakdowns, pro’s & cons , who stood out and how I’m feeling as a fan. Nobody wants to read that and tbh I don’t feel like writing it. The game was what it was and so is the season. I’m over it all and I have no emotion about it either way. Nothing was shocking last night and that’s why it was easy for me to turn it off in the third quarter, as if I’ve been watching a bad movie. No anger , sadness or embarrassment. Just another horrible performance on a Saturday. Oh well.

This thread is more about the longterm health of the program and the countless issues staring it in the face . I’m going to make this short and sweet with no sugarcoating.

First and foremost this staff needs changes. Multiple coaches HAVE TO BE GONE!! If not the class will lose guys and current recruits will give Miami no shot. Program changing type recruits Including guys committed. That’s not opinion , that’s purely fact. Nobody wants to play for some of these coaches or their scheme.

We have of a staff of individuals instead of a staff. Coaches that care more about their ego, protecting their brand and moving up in coaching circles versus actually teaching and building relationships. Coaches that came here because they were butthurt at their other job, or had issues with their previous HC’s. When you have coaches leaking crap out or giving quotes throwing players under the bus to cover your own *** you lose the position room. Trust and respect go a long way in coaching and we lack that as a staff. This is far more than horrible coaching , it goes all the way down to recruiting. There’s only a few guys carrying the water and others that think just by showing up to the games everything is Gucci. “You‘ve been recruited , I’ve done my part“ lol.

Yes we have a bad culture , quitters on the roster and lack talent but the issues are much bigger than that. It’s much deeper. There’s toxicity every where and the on field product shows. Chemistry on a staff is just as important as chemistry with a locker room.

Bro, you don’t have to explain this to anyone who understands.

We have talent issues. We have injuries. But so does every other team not in the top 5 elite teams.

But but we’re slow. Texas A&M has some of the fastest guys in the country, but they suck for many of the same reasons we do.

We didn’t purge the malcontents well enough, but I wonder. Do the players have cause to reject some of the things the staff is doing? You could make a good argument they do. I know it’s best to put your head down, listen and focus, even in the face of adversity, but young guys mostly need to be taught and lead to that. The 10-80-10 rule is undefeated and we are failing against its principles.

There is too much deflecting and blaming in that locker room and the devastating thing is, the coaches are in on it. A house divided can’t stand and we look like the Bad News Bears of college football.

Mario has the personality to fix it. He seems like a genuine dude. But he has to learn from his mistakes. If we got a better fit at oc, this season would be completely different and the other issues wouldn’t be so pronounced.

The offense has no rhythm, no confidence, and no clue. Garcia is toast and we had to throw Jacurri to the wolves. That kid is special and we are running the risk of ruining him with ineptitude.

Let’s make a run at a proven guy. Mullen or some real up and comer. I keep hearing about the Riley guy at TCU.

Things are bad but we are not as bad as we look. Purge the distractions, portal up, and build these guys confidence through discipline and success. It’s not easy, but we have made it harder than it has to be.

My best friend is a Noles fan and like me he’s knows a little more than the average fan schematically, not an expert , so I was asking him about their offense. First thing he said was “ lots of counters from different formations“. Which brings me to Steele. How are we aligning the way we are and getting out of our lanes knowing they run a bunch of counters? They didn’t even have to get creative. As I said on the podcast “
there’ll be a bunch of window dressing by FSU and eye discipline will be huge”. Well they didn’t even go deep in the bag , they took what they wanted smh.

I believe they ran the same counter play over and over sometimes out of the same formation

I have been a Cane fan since 1963. I attended Miami for both undergrad and graduate school. I was present at, or watched, every possible game since 1963. The only time I didn't get to see the Canes play was when I was in the Navy stationed at Guantanamo Naval Station. My house looks like a Hurricane shrine and my kids, and grand kids, also follow the Canes. I have seen,or been at, a slew of games. Without doubt this is the worst team we have ever fielded.

What's crazy is that some of our players are actually more athletic, and skilled, than on teams from the past.....but they don't perform as if they are. Outside of a few (very few) there's just no fire. It looks like merely wearing the uniform is most important. Their performance...well, not so much.

I don't appraise coaches during the hiring process because I don't follow football as closely as many do, so I support the coach and his coaches blindly. As a fan it's my obligation to support my team. But I can't support the product that we've watched on the field this season. Our offense looks like a high school offense. Our players appear as if they don't know how to execute the plays that are called. If this were an old black and white comedy movie the 2022 Canes would be the equivalent of the Keystone Cops.....pointless and not worth watching.

Unlike those in the know on this board I don't care who the **** coach is; as long as he hires the best coaches that put us in the BEST position to win our games. Looking at this season the staff has failed to do this starting from the HC all the way down to the water boy. Who is to blame? Well, lets start with the college administration who took sooooooo long to rid us of the previous head coach and athletic director. Hiring a new staff is something that should have started much earlier in the process. But that didn't happen.

The solution? Well, as many have posted, since Mario will undoubtedly continue as HC, it is incumbent on HIM to clear the staff of most of the coaches. I would think the AD will encourage him to do that. As many have stated Mario needs to come into the 20's and stop playing 1970's or 80's ball. Will he do that, or how he will do that, I do not know......but I do know that, if he doesn't this team will completely fail and the University will suffer in more ways than one.

Mario, if you read these boards....DO THE RIGHT THING and purge this staff in early December.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for this post. We have a number of members here who are, shall we say, "long in the tooth" :) who rarely post. Thank you for this well thought out post.

The defense quitting after the PI was very disappointing. Especially the DL.
If one half *** penalty sucks the will out of our team then we have minimal to zero testicular fortitude in the first place.

Followed by the deep shot that everyone knew was coming except the usual suspect whom I don’t even want to say his fvckin name anymore.

If an announcement doesn’t come out today, that Gattis has been relieved of his duties.

Then that’ll further confirm, Mario is the true and main problem, for me,
Not sure if that's the best approach barely completing year 1 (Mario that is). Seems more likely at the end of the regular season Gattis is **** canned. But honestly I'm not sure which of the two scenarios have the best optics

How does Steele not get any blame? His unit quit also. I’ve seen plenty defense across CFB and the NFL have pride and go out week after week and make a stand with bad offenses.

Steele need to go as well! I’m going to beat that drum.

steele is the only proven dude on this team the ONLY one. He had to do it against the devil himself at bama and vs lsu which is no different.

the players don't wanna play for mario, they've quit and I don't blame them for it. Look at the players congratulating the fsu rb on the field, that is demonstrative behavior with intentions

Put me in the camps that says Gattis should be relieved of his duties immediately. Manny Diaz was fired mid-season by Mack Brown at Texas after it became apparent that he was not a competent coordinator. Mario should do the same to Gattis today.

Whoever's decision it was to put Garcia into the game on 3rd and long with his back to the end zone should also be relieved of their duties immediately. One of the worst things Ive seen done to a freshman QB in 40+ years of watching college football.

Said this all game. It was completely mundane and Miami didn't stop anything.

MFer ain’t lead us to a touchdown in GAMES worth of time and has the nerve to be yelling

The contrast between him and the FSU play caller was STARK.

The defense wasn’t playing as bad as it looked. They were using our alignment against us, getting leverage and running into the second level with a full head of steam. It’s hard to tackle like that and you get worn down QUICK. They played the numbers game.

This is how teams with mediocre talent score lots of points. You run your plays into the weakness of the defense, not the strength. We look like we are randomly pulling plays out of the hat. Rpo is our most effective pass play and we have COMPLETELY abandoned it. Gattis is in over his head, drowning, and flailing. The players play like they don’t respect him, and that sucks because I had high hopes for him. Ego has sunk many coaches and he is the latest in a long line.

Said nearly the same thing…. When I saw 13 trotting out there from my seats I looked at my wife and said this isn’t going to end well…. Sure enough point blank throws it at the defender….

The offensive staff just has no feel for it’s players or getting them in positions to succeed
