Too many issues to count

I mentioned in camp his teaching style ( using that loosely) wasn’t helping things, on top of players having issues learning the system. Then they get bashed publicly as the worst group on the team. As I said back then “ but who coaches them? They’ve all regressed “. After all his comments and leaks there’s No trust or respect by players.

“ Ego and toxic “ is what I kept hearing when he was hired and nothing has changed my mind.
I missed a lot of camp nuggets from this board as I was recovering from a car accident but I’ve read enough over the last month to see what was being said happened right before our eyes on national television last night

It's not. I talked to a certain someone well known around these parts a couple weeks ago who alluded to some real bad fits within the coaching staff. If you have conflict between coordinators and position coaches about technique, how to do certain things, etc., that's going to be a problem in terms of instructing the kids and being unanimous in that regard. You need total buy-in.
I don't disagree...I'm just saying the coordinator picking the position coaches isn't the resolution there. We're overstating how much coordinators choose the staff on their side of the ball

@Cribby Did Mario err in hiring assistants before hiring coordinators? Shouldn't coordinators have guys under them that they trust will run the schemes in the manner they want?
This is where I believe he went wrong. Not that I’m a fan of these coordinators it would seem they would want a say in who their position coaches would be so they have familiarity with scheme and techniques.

I‘m not coming in here and wasting my time and yours posting the same ole drivel about breakdowns, pro’s & cons , who stood out and how I’m feeling as a fan. Nobody wants to read that and tbh I don’t feel like writing it. The game was what it was and so is the season. I’m over it all and I have no emotion about it either way. Nothing was shocking last night and that’s why it was easy for me to turn it off in the third quarter, as if I’ve been watching a bad movie. No anger , sadness or embarrassment. Just another horrible performance on a Saturday. Oh well.

This thread is more about the longterm health of the program and the countless issues staring it in the face . I’m going to make this short and sweet with no sugarcoating.

First and foremost this staff needs changes. Multiple coaches HAVE TO BE GONE!! If not the class will lose guys and current recruits will give Miami no shot. Program changing type recruits Including guys committed. That’s not opinion , that’s purely fact. Nobody wants to play for some of these coaches or their scheme.

We have of a staff of individuals instead of a staff. Coaches that care more about their ego, protecting their brand and moving up in coaching circles versus actually teaching and building relationships. Coaches that came here because they were butthurt at their other job, or had issues with their previous HC’s. When you have coaches leaking crap out or giving quotes throwing players under the bus to cover your own *** you lose the position room. Trust and respect go a long way in coaching and we lack that as a staff. This is far more than horrible coaching , it goes all the way down to recruiting. There’s only a few guys carrying the water and others that think just by showing up to the games everything is Gucci. “You‘ve been recruited , I’ve done my part“ lol.

Yes we have a bad culture , quitters on the roster and lack talent but the issues are much bigger than that. It’s much deeper. There’s toxicity every where and the on field product shows. Chemistry on a staff is just as important as chemistry with a locker room.
This is what happens when you don’t let the OCs/DCs bring in their own people. Too many coaches doing their own thing based on their previous experience.

It was pretty evident last night that the collective team didn’t give a ****. Packed stadium, night game on ABC versus their biggest rival and nobody seemed to care. No pride, no fight, no chemistry. We’ve had a ton of bad losses (far too many to accept) but last night was as close to the Tie’s loss to Clemson as I can remember.

At least fix the **** culture and start today.
It doesn't matter how much they care when you're running a bad scheme. What do you think Steph Curry would look like playing in the post area?

I really find it hard to believe that we went into that game with a QB1 at 30% health and had that offensive game plan set up with Brown and Garcia. FSU manhandled us in every facet of the game. Embarrassment is not a strong enough word.

How does Steele not get any blame? His unit quit also. I’ve seen plenty defense across CFB and the NFL have pride and go out week after week and make a stand with bad offenses.

Steele need to go as well! I’m going to beat that drum.
Gattis sucks but Steele does often get a pass on here. He must be Gattis’s biggest fan. Aside from last night, His defense gave up three 69+ yard TD bombs to MTSU and Gattis took all the heat for losing that one 😂

So tell me how come Mario hired such a horrible staff after doing a thorough search with tons of interviews. Now I have to worry not just about game day management but his in ability to hire people? If he can’t hire people even his amazing prowess at recruiting isn’t going to help because the word will get out and suddenly his biggest skill will become a non-factor

On a brighter note Greentree practice field should remain in tiptop shape when you consider the amount of fertilizer that’s being poured on it and that we won’t have to damage it with bowl practices

All the talk about Mario taking forever in finding his guys on the staff was all just bull**** because he couldnt get his top choices...

Or he is lying because he doesnt know what he is doing and cant get his coaches to buy into his vision...

Either way it is not a good look and brings up alot of questions going forward...

Pack mentality and people like to pile on. Don’t know wtf people see to not include Steele in the “need to go” category. Offenses have passed him by in my opinion and he brings nothing recruiting wise.

Said nearly the same thing…. When I saw 13 trotting out there from my seats I looked at my wife and said this isn’t going to end well…. Sure enough point blank throws it at the defender….

The offensive staff just has no feel for it’s players or getting them in positions to succeed
This gets lost in all the scheme talk with Gattis. The dude has zero feel for his players, their strengths and weaknesses and how to put them in positions to succeed within his scheme. Dude is atrocious.

Is Ponce really that bad?

His offenses are nothing like what Gattis is doing. They don’t fit together. They are probably clashing. It would very difficult to develop the position when oc and qbc are from different systems.

This is the truth. He missed on a lot of coaches before he ended up with the current staff.
