Too many issues to count

We should call out coaches by name who are sabotaging the program by stealing money and doing poor work

I‘m not coming in here and wasting my time and yours posting the same ole drivel about breakdowns, pro’s & cons , who stood out and how I’m feeling as a fan. Nobody wants to read that and tbh I don’t feel like writing it. The game was what it was and so is the season. I’m over it all and I have no emotion about it either way. Nothing was shocking last night and that’s why it was easy for me to turn it off in the third quarter, as if I’ve been watching a bad movie. No anger , sadness or embarrassment. Just another horrible performance on a Saturday. Oh well.

This thread is more about the longterm health of the program and the countless issues staring it in the face . I’m going to make this short and sweet with no sugarcoating.

First and foremost this staff needs changes. Multiple coaches HAVE TO BE GONE!! If not the class will lose guys and current recruits will give Miami no shot. Program changing type recruits Including guys committed. That’s not opinion , that’s purely fact. Nobody wants to play for some of these coaches or their scheme.

We have of a staff of individuals instead of a staff. Coaches that care more about their ego, protecting their brand and moving up in coaching circles versus actually teaching and building relationships. Coaches that came here because they were butthurt at their other job, or had issues with their previous HC’s. When you have coaches leaking crap out or giving quotes throwing players under the bus to cover your own *** you lose the position room. Trust and respect go a long way in coaching and we lack that as a staff. This is far more than horrible coaching , it goes all the way down to recruiting. There’s only a few guys carrying the water and others that think just by showing up to the games everything is Gucci. “You‘ve been recruited , I’ve done my part“ lol.

Yes we have a bad culture , quitters on the roster and lack talent but the issues are much bigger than that. It’s much deeper. There’s toxicity every where and the on field product shows. Chemistry on a staff is just as important as chemistry with a locker room.
The weirdest thing to me about Mario is when all this bad going on and mistakes he’s too calm. No fire and doesn’t lose it on any of these kids. LITE A ******* FIRE UNDER THIER ASSES

Kevin smith is a man amongst boys. He’s trying.
It’s my biggest concern with the, “Hire an OC & let him bring all his own guys,” paradigm. He & Field should likely(?) stay for recruiting continuity. I don’t care that Mallory can’t block at this point. He couldn’t block if Leon Searcy were on Greentree burning him with a lit cigar every time he missed a block. Not sure that’s truly a “failure” on Field’s part. I’m good with Mario keeping a few bagmen on staph to “support”/extend his lone/principal strength as a HMFIC.

I mentioned in camp his teaching style ( using that loosely) wasn’t helping things, on top of players having issues learning the system. Then they get bashed publicly as the worst group on the team. As I said back then “ but who coaches them? They’ve all regressed “. After all his comments and leaks there’s No trust or respect by players.

“ Ego and toxic “ is what I kept hearing when he was hired and nothing has changed my mind.
Sounds like layman’s terms for a Narcissistic personality disorder.. Those folks can literally destroy a culture and create chaos on a large scale.

If an announcement doesn’t come out today, that Gattis has been relieved of his duties.

Then that’ll further confirm, Mario is the true and main problem, for me,

Today is a little extreme for me.. but if it doesn't happen immediately after the season is over I will have to agree.

If I’m TVD I’m not demanding this but I would tell Mario if Gattis stays I’m going to SMU and playing frost Lashlee. Can’t keep Gattis is stinks like a backed up toilet

Fire Gattis and give ponce a shot at helping his new job opportunity by showing some actual life on offense

I’m sorry but ponce needs to go too… the QBs from TVD to Jake to JB all look unprepared…poor mechanics.. and seem to have zero feel in the pocket.

The called-back INT in the end zone sums up this program for me. Guy picks it off, obviously should down it, but says "**** the team I'm getting my run-back" and makes it (barely) to the 1 yard line. They talk about football IQ? Well, it and discipline are non-existent in this program.

Last night I saw Coach Addae and Coach Steele come out of halftime early and they were talking and it didn't look like they were talking about adjustments.

Is Ponce really that bad?

His offenses are nothing like what Gattis is doing. They don’t fit together. They are probably clashing. It would very difficult to develop the position when oc and qbc are from different systems.
Only way to find out is to immediately dismiss Gattis and let Ponce run the offense rest of the year.

Agree with the firing part.

Ponce’s scheme is nothing like Gattis’s (see film from App St last season), there is no time for players to learn and change schemes at this point in the season. Ponce could be judged on his rhythm and feel for playing calling with what the players currently know for offense with room for maybe some small additions and philosophy adjustments by him. It’s definitely better than staying with Gattis and at least seeing if Ponce can bring some positive influence to the offense. Right now I’m not sure if he can be evaluated fairly as a QB coach trying to teach another philosophy and scheme that is different from what he knows and possibly believes would work with our current offensive personnel.
