That's the thing. Miami fans in particular expect perfection...anything else is failure. Not saying that's wrong, but when that's the expectation, there are only 2 coaches who can approach it right now. The truth is that Riley has delivered, just not the ultimate prize. But as fans we're no longer able to enjoy any other prizes, so we see anything but a NC as failure.
In a (slightly) related note, I've been seeing people posting about what Richt did at Miami and mocking fans for giving him the boot. Richt had to go, not because he went 7-6, but because he didn't think that record called for a change. He couldn't believe that things wouldn't just iron themselves out without his help, and that's unacceptable from the guy at the top.
