If Manny isn’t fired today, he’s not going to be.

Am I wrong in thinking that? The season is over. Almost all firings take place the day after the season, if not in-season. I know we don’t have an AD, but if he’s not going to be here next year, what good does keeping him until tomorrow or beyond do?

Tell me I’m wrong here because I don’t want to cry myself to sleep tonight.

You’re probably wrong. Most likely they will hire the AD first and manny will be fired soon after.

Does anyone have an example of a coach being fired later than the day after the season? I’m guessing there are examples but I can’t think of any.

I do understand no AD makes this unique.

I was expecting the announcement after the game. That's how it usually happens, but we don't have an AD, and these things are usually announced by the AD. We hear about the new AD and coach meeting up to discuss the program, and then they have a mutual parting of the ways.

No, it usually happens the Sunday after the last game. Today. If not earlier, in-season, of course. They weren’t going to announce it while the team was flying back. But this is when you bring him in and tell him to hit the bricks.

If you already know who the next guy will be and the next guy is already to make the jump but has commitments, why act now?

If we don't have either a new AD or an announcement of Manny gone by Wednesday December 1st then you can be nervous, until that date just sit tight, gonna be a crazy December for Canes nation.
Definitely agree on both points

There are barriers still obviously.

No AD
Buyout supposedly dropping in a few days.

Until the decision is made officially, everything will "look" and "feel" normal. People will be looking for clues like canceled recruiting trips etc but everybody in the inner circle knows that the time between an official decision and making that decision public has to be very short due to the leaks and circus that comes with it. As of now, I'd say there has not been an "official" decision..doesn't mean that the decision makers have not already decided in their mind that his tenure is over.

How about when Illinois fired Tim Beckmann one week before the season started

He's going in homes to recruit today. I don't think we'll hear anything. I do think the AD name will be leaked though.

how many cot dayum times does it have to be stated that the buyout drops $2 million + in a couple days?
