Tight end coach will be

I'd be surprised if Richt Jr. counted toward the 9. He's very green. I think he'll be QC assistant.

I wouldn't be shocked at all. Richt probably doing the same thing Art Briles did with his kid. Football coaching is one of the last great bastions of nepotism.

how many coaches can you have total? does the S&C coach count toward that total?

Yeah and Jay Harbaugh being on his dad's staff in Michigan. I'm not sure why people find it hard to believe Richt Jr will be one of the 9 coaches especially after the hires of Rumph and Banda. As Franchise said, he's only offensive assistant because we're not sure what position he'll end up.

We will hire a WR and QB coach.

Richt Jr. will not count against the 9 assistant cap.

Same thing Richt is doing with Richt Jr. Richt Jr. will be one of the 9 assistants.

I love how people rationalize and justify garbage decisions just because they can't mentally handle the possibility that the Rich era might be 4 more years of garbage football

But but but...we have Mark Richt guysm! Never mind that his CB coach, Safeties coach, Tight Ends Coach, Special Teams coach, Quarterbacks Coach, and now Strength and Conditioning Coach are all completely green and will be learning on the job. What could possibly go wrong?

So instead of just letting ish play out, we should just cry and moan like you do about every decision that is made? That's the better option?

Trying to be on record as being the first to "call it" so he can bump the thread as soon as we lose.

I'm being real. I'm not deluding myself or blowing sunshine up anyone else's *** when I see this thing going down the wrong path.

If you're gonna say positive things about the hire, what's wrong with me saying negative things? Sorry but this is a downgrade from Coach Scott at the TE position. Same can be said for several other positions.

And Who the f_ck are you supposed to be? Just because you think something is bad mean it is? How about you stfu until we start playing games and then you can complain if it is warranted.

I feel confident that Hartley will get the job done . . . the way Richt Wants The Job Done. Actually, I feel confident that all his coaches/coordinators will get the job done. And unless and until I see evidence to the contrary (on the field in real games) my confidence
won't wane.

But, I get the concern. We've been waiting for a decade and a half for this Juggernaut to dominate major college football again. I'm there too. I've just decided that a guy who averaged 10 wins a year in the SEC over a 15 year period knows a lot more about putting together a winning team and staff than me or anyone on this forum. With all due respect, of course.

Quite frankly, Richt could hire f-ing Pinocchio and I'd be fine with it, because I would know he had a very good reason for making the hire. So, maybe it's time to just sit back and relax in the knowledge that . . . all is well at TheU!

For those of you that just can't help second guessing one of the best coaches in college football for the last decade and a half, maybe an ego check is in order. Or . . . could it be, your a worthless gator/nole troll.

Now, back to my Cigar!

You're a very trusting man. I'm not. Been following Canes football far too long to give the guys in charge any benefit of the doubt

What's your proof that Hartley is a downgrade? Bet you don't catch him spewing Goldenisms, the 2 years he coached TEs at Marshall they(the tight ends) were very productive and he has proven he can recruit(id argue it's harder to recruit to Marshall then Miami). Those factors alone make it at worse a wash IMO. I appreciate what Larry Scott did for Miami but he reportedly declined to return. Who did you want to hire? Mario? Not a fan of that idea, especially with the local coaches clamoring for him to be HC. Think that would be a problem waiting to happen.

Mario would have been a better hire than Hartley
