VanSant noted that after Musslit was handed over to interrogation personnel back at Baghdad International Airport, they were woken several hours later in the middle of the night by an excited intelligence analyst that said, "He's spilling the beans. He's giving it up. He knows Saddam's location. You guys need to get ready to go."

8/15/21, Operation Allies Refuge: Kabul Airlift

24th STS CCT’s who were able to clear the abandoned Airport of all defunct Aircraft, shelling’s & UXO’s, to establish runways & provide a landing strip for all international flights in & out of the Kabul Airport in order to evacuate several thousands refugees.

The Combat Controllers enabling & establishing an international Airfield in hostile territory in a rapid pace anywhere in the world are really unsung heroes who don’t get as much glitz’s & glamour as SEALS, but do an incredibly difficult job & are just as highly skilled & proficient multifaceted tacticians who perform multiple high-threat level missions on an elite level on par with the rest of JSOC Command.

The compositional structure of the highly secretive unit is also really fascinating because they’re divided into 6-Team Color coded Elements (including a HQ) that serves in multiple purposes as it pertains to the specific Operation.

This one in particular was Black, as their specificity is CCT, but they also have Teams that specialize in every aspect of Special Operations including Assaulter & RECCE teams (all of whom were also present & assisted in the evacuation).

Not going to highlight any particular individuals because they’re all still active duty, but the Bearclaw & Scorpion Gang always gets the job done...

I will never forget waking up at around 5am one August morning after hearing on the radio, the Taliban is at the gate, and someone come over the radio so calmly saying to shoot them and that was that. The stories I can tell from during that time such as seeing the guys fall from the C-17, to turning over thirthteen American flags on that deadly evening in August, to lending out the five Hilux use to transport the body to the flight line to be carried by their comrades to a C-17 to be returned back to Dover, to being/living on the airfield when it was cleared out by the only guys who could do it (was not U.S.). Remember one early morning we were waiting on a particular civilian bird, it arrived, the crew load masters get off and telling us that they needed us to certain things. I lost it, literally asked the guys are you from Miami because you are wearing cologne like some my Cubano friends and they said yes, and that it was literally their first flight as a company using someone else charter (lack of better terms). Told them it would be their last if it ever happened again, you are in the big league now.

It was the wild Wild West out there except for one location at airport.

All of this is public information, the rest I will keep off of here for obvious reasons.

But even in Delta, yet another saying applied: “******** we shall always have among us.” The Brian would literally come and stand next to you on the range and watch you shoot with his hands on his hips, laughing and shaking his head. Brian really and truly was just every bit as good as he swaggered; how he chose to wear his performance was totally on him, and Brian M. chose to wear his superiority on his sleeves. Hey but that’s why I loved the guy, that and the fact he was not on my team. It is a registered fact, one that is backed up by formally ratified affidavit, that Brian M. talked sooo much **** that Delta’s own Lawrence Allen Vickers (LAV) gave him the nickname “Assmouth.” As much as any of us hate to admit it, we need Assmouths; we need Brians. The Brian keeps the bar high. He keeps the water in the shark tank deep and cold and swirling violently. The Brian creeps into your dreams at night and insists that a kid with a cork-n’-string pop gun could lay down a tighter shot group than you. Does that hurt your feelings? Do you feel like crying? Sob away cuz your tears only make the shark tank deeper, and the Brian’s titanium-encased ego stronger.

Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokeswoman, said later on Tuesday that the Chinook “had a problem with one rotor that caused a hard landing during takeoff.” The 10 most seriously injured soldiers were flown to an American medical hospital in Germany, but none of their injuries were life-threatening, the three officials said.
