Through 3 games….

1) Mensah stats are beyond ridiculous. Hoping his ‘injury’ is something he’s fine by mid week. Play him 1.5 quarters and get out against Central Michigan
2) Enough with Pringle. 2.7 yards per carry. Give those carries elsewhere.
3) We really need Cooper to step up. Mali looks ridiculous but we need someone else to emerge. He has as many catches as our next 4 Pass catchers combined.
4) JJ Dunnigan leads the team in tackles. Who had that on their bingo card through 3 games.
5) Get Pringle off KR - he’s useless back there right now. He pauses each return and then thinks he can get through but we need someone else back there.

Saw an interview with Mensah after the game and he seemed fine..for what its worth.

Marty is without question our best 3rd down back. He converts every single one of them when targeted, whether run, pass or protection. Pringle takes his place in that role. Don’t go away from Pringle, just use him wisely in space. He beats LBs in space routinely. No LB can tackle Pringle 1:1 in space.

Pringle needs to press the middle initially on returns and then pick a sideline and hit it. He is not going to have a successful return right up the middle. Draw the kick coverage inside then turn outside towards a sideline with speed.

The run game has to be full operation by the Clemson game. Dawson and Mirabal need to have some long talks this week. Dawson didn’t trust the oline in the 2nd half and went full 1st half Indiana National Championship game. That was the Carson Beck playbook. Not Mensah.

Just as I pointed out during the playoff run, every outside designed run and those that the RB intentionally bounced to the outside worked last night. Dawson has a true fear of doing something that works too much. He will not wait for it to be stopped first before moving on from it or adjusting. Whenever the intermediate and long passing game is unstoppable and working, we’ll go up 21 points then he’ll begin to run up the middle almost exclusively or call plays that the defense has schemed to prevent like screens to Toney. It seems that he begins to call plays to the defense’s strengths.

Im still so confused why they were not letting mensah throw it down field 2nd half what really happened ?

When we only open the Horizontal Playbook Sheet - and abandon the Vertical Playbook Sheet - it's then everything else is glued shut.

Playing to not lose - loses. Playing to coast - runs out of gas.

Only a few moments in the Second Half did I see crisp urgency play and play calling. Wake was hitting everything that moved.

Is Dawson really a good OC or our portal qbs just making him seem smart lol

Might be mighty interesting if Mensah just started calling his own plays. He knows what he can do, he knows what's available, and who's going to get open, and when a run opportunity is right there for the taking when they line up.

That's one thing about The PIRATE. He sent in plays that were only suggestions - leaving his QB's to call whatever they saw that had the best chance for advancing.

With someone like Mensah - calling his own plays - even for a Quarter - that might be a really fun game.

Starters need to play. Can’t be off a week and then think you’re going to get going against Clemson. Now if guys are banged up and not ready to play like Fletcher, let Lyle or Mallory start and Pringle is the spell RB. Pringle isn’t a physical enough runner for what we need. Lucas is likely out until what? Pitt? If Toney can’t play, fine. Seems like Mensah needs to learn to play without Toney. Where was the connection with Barkate at? Doesn’t help with the constant WR screens. Need a new starter at LG. Get SJ the **** out of here.

Regarding point # 5. We don’t need to have anyone returning kicks until we can fix the issue of not getting a penalty every time we attempt a return. Just don’t bring it out of the end zone ever. If they kick it short of the end zone, let it bounce into the end zone and then pick it up and take a knee.

Our kick return game has been atrocious the last 10 years with the exception of the Brashard Smith for 1 year.

Judging Pringle (who saved our 2025 season when he took the primary RB role leading up to the playoff) based off how he’s running behind this horse **** OL is wild

If they keep running 65 out there, the injury list is gonna grow weekly and it’ll include number 10 on it

Guys were open..he was lowkey seeing ghosts
Toney was open numerous times in the second half and he never looked to him and it seemed like in the second half when we weren’t running those stupid screens that go nowhere Mensah was going for the shock play instead of just keeping the chains moving like they did in the first half.

Not sure what happened in the second half but whatever it was I don’t want to see it again.

Let’s stop rushing to conclusions on running backs so quick. I don’t know why everyone is so eager to hot take with that position.

First it was Martinez bashing in the first half of 2024. Then it was Fletcher bashing before the playoffs. Lyle and Pringle were the guys who needed to play until they weren’t. Mallory will get ran down at some point and people will turn on him.

Let it play out. I think we will have a very good running game because we always do under Cristobal.

We're gonna miss Marty short yardage for sure. That's his superpower. Vision and feet.

Since the idea of ramping up for Clemson has come up a few times...I can't resist. CLEMSON SUCKS. Hope I'm not premature, because I guess there's still the possibility Dabo pulls a rabbit out of his ****, but sans Venables and Tony White (?), UVA coach - I have SERIOUS doubts. Have watched/watching them 3 times now, and pretty sure they're a just a midling conference opponent, if that.

Pringle has also been electric as a receiving threat as well. Look at Fletchers missed block, if that was pringle he wouldn't get a snap for 3 games... Its absurd.

Now that Brown looks to have a major injury, the fact Fletcher is a dog**** receiving threat... we don't know about Mallory, and TBD if Lyle just sucked last year cause he sucks or cause of injury, but Pringle better get a lot more burn.

hmm
