Thoughts on Schiano

He's "Angry Al Golden."

Another Jersey blowhard with Penn St ties who thinks he knows it all and only claim to fame is having one good season at a garbage program in a garbage conference. The only difference between him and Al is that Al was soft and happy and Schiano is a prick.

He'd be an amazing DC for a program willing to cough up a mill. I want no part of him as a head coach.

He can develop talent like a ************ but he's an absolute ************. He'd definitely rub the diva south Florida recruits and coaches the wrong way. Would love him as a DC, not so much as a HC.

Of the 4 finalist, I think Schiano is probably #4 for me. Probably mostly due to the general mood of the fan base should he be the guy. However, you can't look at his W/L record in a vacuum. Rutgers was considered one of the worst jobs in America when he got there. His first 5 years he went 19-39. His last 6 he went 48-28 and parlayed the job into an NFL job. He's got his warts like the rest of the candidates, but by no means do I think he is the "Angry Al Golden" like everyone is portraying him.
 
IMO, Schiano is a complete 360 from Al Golden.

Overrated Jersey guy, wants to bring McNulty his Penn State buddy in with him, and believes in Mark D'Onorfio. If that dude wore a tie, he would literally be Al Golden.

i am warming up to him after reading that SI article he has made a concerted effort to improve upon his shortcomings. he has done a lot to prepare for his next gig. i think he might be able to take this program further than richt but both would be good choices in my book.

Im not going to lie.. I think he'd do well here after reading that article. he seems like he's learned his lesson. He's not al golden. Not even close.

And of course after her failed miserably he would preach change in interviews... No brainer
